After her last year included crushing on the wrong guy (again), having her best friend move all the way across the country, and an unexpected loss she's still not prepared to deal with, she deserves it. Spending the summer in California isn't quite as glamorous as Rennie Winters had hoped. Time with her best friend, Maia, has been great, but all the fun came to a screeching halt when Rennie got her heart broken. And then there's the part where she's started time traveling to an unfamiliar land where the Commander and his Enforcers are trying to kill her. She’s been drawn into a world she doesn't understand, a prophecy she may or not believe in, and a love triangle she wants zero part of. Her biggest wish is to lay low and get through the rest of the summer unscathed.

In this much-anticipated conclusion to the Paper Dreams Chronicles, Rennie must band together with her friends one last time to join forces with the mysterious rebel leader, confront the Commander, take on the Enforcers, uncover the truth behind her sister’s death, and what was that other thing? Oh right. Keep the two timelines from imploding, destroying the fabric of Time itself. So there’s that.
