Old Man’s Quest Summary

The world summoned a hero.

It got an eighty-two-year-old Villager with a failing heart.

When a forty-one-year-old retirement-home orderly dies performing one final act of kindness, he expects oblivion. Instead, a divine mistake drops him into the body of a sickly old grandfather in a medieval world of monsters, magic, and merciless character sheets.

His new body is dying. His stats are terrible. His class is useless.

His only advantage is Bargain, a strange ability that allows him to negotiate supernatural exchanges. Wounds, years, obligations, and even magic can be traded, provided someone agrees to the terms.

Unfortunately, every deal has a price, and his payments are coming out of a lifespan he can’t afford to lose.

Joined by a formidable princess, a sharp-eyed huntress, and a suspicious young mage, the world’s least impressive hero must outwit predatory spirits, survive demonic pursuit, and reach an ancient artifact before his body gives out.

The demons believe the wrong champion was summoned.

They may be right.

But heroes aren’t always the people destiny chooses. Sometimes they’re the ones nobody wanted.

Old Man’s Quest is the first book in a humorous LitRPG progression-fantasy series featuring contract magic, unconventional advancement, capable companions, and an elderly hero who must negotiate his way through the apocalypse.
