Showing results for "the bench" in Coming of Age

In 1972 on Mudas Summers's 17th birthday, her beloved mama Ella is found hanging from the rafters of their home. Most people in Peckinpaw, Kentucky, assume that Ella's no-good husband did the deed. Others think Ella grew tired of his abuse and did it herself. Muddy is determined to find out for sure either way, especially once she finds strange papers hidden among her mama's possessions

The basic initial storyline premise focuses on a lonely boy who spends most of his childhood sitting alone on a park bench. However, after performing a few random acts of kindness, his life begins to head in a direction that he could have never imagined in his wildest dreams. That unlikely lonely boy would end up building a giant family dynasty that changes the lives of everyone in his entire community, and beyond. He shows us that even the most common and disadvantaged among us can take certain actions in life that result in dramatic life-changing results.
