Jon Ryan had lived long enough to know better. But with age does not automatically come wisdom. He has saved mankind many times. He even resurrected Earth and all its inhabitants from never-having-existed. But he's still haunted, and haunted people do crazy things.

To say Jon Ryan's life was good would be a silly understatement. Sure. Come on, he did CPR on his very first girlfriend, Jenna, when they were in their tweens and narrowly saved her from drowning. Then they dated throughout high school and were only temporarily separated when he went off to the USAF Academy and she to UCLA. But their future was looking so bright they both needed welding goggles. But, way back there in the reality that seems to always kick anyone named Jon Ryan in the ass was...er, an uncomfortable truth. His life, Jenna's life, and their life together never happened.

The Jon Ryan of the distant future has an uncontrollable knack for mischief. Now it's really gotten him in trouble. If the universe had a principal's office, he'd be sitting outside it for the next million years! They say the road to hell is paved with good intentions. Look that up, and you'll find Jon's picture in the Wikipedia article. After the evil clan no-time Earth, he simply wanted to restore his home world. And Jon did, but was he satisfied? No. Then he decided to try to repair that timeline to the exact one it had originally been. Talk about a harebrained notion.

A few years earlier, the evil clan destroyed Earth. Jon and his team labored mightily to resurrect our lost civilization. But once they achieved that impossibility, Jon grew more and more obsessed with restoring Earth's original time line. He wants to give rebirth to his original life story, his history. In spite of pleas to the contrary by his friends, he was hellbent on achieving his unproven goal.

Jon's growing concern with what he sees as a corrupted time line is beginning to look like an obsession. Yeah, those never end well. Every attempt he tries to repair Earth's post-resurrection time line only make time/space worse. The impossible and the hazardous are happening everywhere in the universe. Not only that, but they are occurring with ever-increasing frequency and bone-chilling severity. Even Jon's minor tweaks to past events backfire with an intensity that would give pause to a normal person. But not Jon Ryan! The man's relentless.

Guess who may just need to end time? You got it: Jon Ryan may be forced to cancel, terminate, and definitively end time itself—everywhere. Why is he straying in that direction? Well, he wanted to fix the timeline. After the Clan no-timed Earth and Jon resurrected it, he was stressed that the new future would void out the very future that gave us our hero himself. So, Jon did his best to fix the timeline according to how he thought it should be.

Fractured Void plunges Nate Taylor and his crew deeper into the mysteries of the cosmos as they continue their perilous journey aboard the Vanguard. After narrowly escaping the Expanse, they find themselves on the edge of a new frontier—a vast, uncharted region of space known as the Fractured Void. This treacherous expanse is a cosmic labyrinth where reality bends, and the very fabric of space-time is unstable, presenting a danger like no other.

They hit the train for credits. They left with a weapon that could rewrite time. Rix Varn is a battle-scarred pilot with a chip on his shoulder and a bounty on his head. Grix is his half-mechanical partner with feathers, firepower, and a bad habit of stealing from people who take themselves too seriously. Together, they fly the Black Vow—the fastest rustbucket this side of Saturn—and they only take jobs no one else is crazy enough to touch. So when a plasma train loaded with high-grade tech comes screaming across Hyperion’s skies, they do what outlaws do best: board it, rob it, and vanish.
