A cinematic, magical artifact hunt filled with love and high-flying action. If you enjoy historical adventure, imaginative magic systems, and new takes on the classic war story, you will love Drops of Glass.“Baldwin brings world history to life in a fantastical way. He paired reality with a pinch of magic and made it sing.” Marcus and Jane don’t belong at war. He’s a gun shy combat pilot from California looking to earn a name for himself by volunteering to fight the Kaiser.

King’s bastard Shianan Becknam buries himself in his military career to avoid the dangers of drawing political attention. When the artifact intended to end an interdimensional war is damaged, the mage Ariana is trapped on the other side of the rift with her servant - only, the cheery young boy is really one of the monstrous enemy, disguised as a human.

After Lufbery, everything changed. Still reeling from the trauma of their last mission, Marcus and Jane idle in a holding pattern, testing trinkets for possible magic effects far behind the danger of the front lines. But though they’re removed from the action, violent magic picks at the security they once enjoyed. A new mission calls them to Ireland, and their sense of honor and loyalty faces challenges like never before. For one of them, it’s harder than ever to comply with orders.

Shianan Becknam, commander, count, and bastard, has survived committing treason and the murder plot against him. Now that the kingdom is at last protected from marauding Ryuven, the only worth he’s ever had is no longer needed. Trapped in conflicting oaths of allegiance, he’s more a political liability than ever—and less able to court the woman he nearly died to save. But the protective shield, for which Shianan suffered so much, may not be working. The reports of Ryuven raiding the countryside should be impossible within the magical shield.

The prince-heir’s life hangs by a thread, and the last person to see him conscious was the king’s bastard, Shianan Becknam. As rumor grows of Commander Becknam’s possible fratricide, Shianan pushes away Black Mage Ariana Hazelrig, lest her rise be destroyed by connection to him.
