Cody Banks destroyed his life before enlisting in the Marines. But tough decisions in America drained the military’s resources, leaving the nation vulnerable to attack. When Cody’s detachment returns to a powerless country, he finds himself steeped in the blood of a brand new war. His enemies are swift, brutal, and at times, scattered, but to get back to Burning Hollow, he must crawl through the middle of hell.

With resources dwindling, the death toll mounting, and foreign troops laying waste to the east coast cities, a strike team comprised of Burning Hollow and Smokey Hills’ fiercest warriors will attempt the impossible: They will wade into the apocalyptic wasteland to meet and attack the enemy at their own stronghold.

With a blistering wave of ground assaults now crushing Knoxville, foreign troops engage in wholesale slaughter, forcing small pockets of survivors to flee in a mass exodus. Wyatt Rutledge has led an assemblage of refugees to the safety of Burning Hollow, but their salvation presents the gravest of threats to the Banks family farm and everyone else in the holler.
