Book One of the Tharion Cycle In the mist-drenched marshes of a dying empire, the land begins to forget—and so do the people. As Rome crumbles in Britain’s farthest province, a hidden girl with starlit blood begins to dream of a Bell that tolls not in sound, but in memory. Caelwyn has lived her whole life in Elderglen, veiled from the world, raised by a seer who speaks in silence. But when the mists thicken and the rune-stones begin to hum, she’s forced from hiding—into a world where names vanish, roads shift, and even time no longer flows as it should.

There was once, long ago, a foolish king who decreed that women should not, and would not, inherit. Thus when a girl-child was born to Lord Cador - Merlin-enchanted fighter of dragons and Earl of Cornwall - he secreted her away: to be raised a boy so that the family land and honour would remain intact. That child’s name was Silence. Silence must find their own place in a medieval world that is determined to place the many restrictions of gender and class upon them. With dreams of knighthood and a lonely heart to answer, Silence sets out to define themselves.

In a mythic world where breath becomes syntax and silence is never empty, the Loom has fallen quiet. But when grief braids into resonance, a forgotten glyph awakens, and Elias returns not as a child but as a convergence of wolf, dragon, and phoenix. Born of memory and myth, Elias’s rebirth stirs the Loomwake Children—Kaia, Riven, and Solin—triplets whose forms are chosen not by prophecy but by pulse. As Phoenix-Wolf, Dragon-Wolf, and Shadow-Wolf, they become the first of a new mythic category: Loomwake Shifters. But the Loom is not at peace.

After having defeated Lord Swine and liberated his farm, Mousey returns to Vulpa the Trickster Vixen in the ruined city of the Tall Apes. There, he encounters a wrong that is worse than all others, the dreaded Silence. The Silence is a predator worse than any other, as it makes no sound, has no scent, and no one knows what it looks like.
