The Asherian War has ushered Earth and its population into a new age. Humankind has gone, giving rise to a tenuous society of other races once confined largely to shadows and stories. The new paradigm is overseen by the Celestials, whose terrestrial ambassadors, the Legacies, wield a potent and manifold elemental magic—one ruled by the astrological sign one is born under. They were instrumental in banishing the dragons—ravenous and mindless beasts—to the gloomier land of a place known as the Outer Edge.

Somewhere in the darklands of Creet, an necromancer and murderous android have just made a horrifying pact. Kase, a novice mage, and Brell, an outlaw bounty hunter, are out to stop them. Brell wants the reward. Kase wants vengeance. Armed with his magic and her illegal technology, they set out on a perilous journey. Soon they’re plunged into a deadly adventure of cursed cities, sinister necromancers, and untamed magic. The killer is expecting them. After all, he invited them to carry out his master plan.

When an amnesiac deity is accidentally resurrected by an ancient evil, his only hope of remembering who and what he once was is a vampire named Lamia. When she runs to him for protection, an inescapable fate is unleashed upon them both as they fight to survive.

Moments after he hatched, he was thrown into a sack. His pride as a dragon raged against the indignity and he fought back. The wounds he gave his captors earned him the name Nemesis, and the kindness offered at the hand of a half-elf slave earned him a partner. With Harper on his side, the pair set out to earn their freedom. They're determined to never be slaves again.

And can Nazafareen triumph without facing her own heart's darkness?

Siderovy úvahy se čím dál víc propadají do víru paranoie, iluzí a klamu a povídka pozvolna odhaluje odvrácenou tvář lásky, totiž neředěné zlo a šílenství.
