Kim lives in a cozy cottage deep in the snowy woods, where Christmas is her favorite time of year. Along with her three best friends—Teddy, a curious baby bear, Betty, a shy little fox, and Peter, a wise baby owl—Kim eagerly awaits the arrival of Christmas Eve. This year, something magical happens: Santa Claus himself visits their little cottage, asking Kim and her friends for help with a very special delivery!

It's her birthday! Not only is she having a fun party with her friends, but she’s also getting the most perfect present from her dad: a puppy! Mindy has wanted a dog ever since she can remember. She knows that a dog will be just the thing to cheer her dad up, too. 

Mindy is excited to celebrate the Lunar New Year! Even though it’s the first one without her mom, Mindy is determined to enjoy the day. She decides to make traditional Korean New Year food, a rice cake soup that’s her favorite. But things aren’t going quite to plan, and the celebration doesn’t feel the same as it did before. With the help of her family and friends, can Mindy find a way to still enjoy her old holiday traditions, and create new ones along the way?
