Per quanto possa sembrare impossibile, il ragazzo si ritrova catapultato in un'altra dimensione, e di lì ancora e ancora, continua a rimbalzare di mondo in mondo, finendo in realtà che assomigliano molto alla sua, ma hanno sempre qualche cosa di diverso.

Jessie is busy getting her new bookstore ready for its grand opening when deliveryman Evan Foster arrives with an order of books. To her shock, the suddenly distraught Evan tells her that he has seen her in a dream. She is the only person who can help him find his missing wife. Jessie calls her boyfriend Matt, the chief of police, and almost immediately, a picture of the abduction forms in her mind.

Ash ist ein weißer, heterosexueller Junge aus der Mittelschicht. Er hält sich selbst für einen guten Kerl, aber nicht gerade für das Zentrum des Universums. Bis er eines Freitags in eine andere Dimension katapultiert wird, in der er genau das ist - das Zentrum des Universums! Damit verfügt ausgerechnet Ash nun über die Macht, die Welt zu verändern. Klar, in der nächsten Dimension besitzt Ash alles, wovon er je geträumt hat. Doch dann geht irgendetwas schief, und Ash führt - aus Versehen - die Rassentrennung wieder ein.
