This is a story from the Fall of the House of Usher collection. The horrors of the Spanish Inquisition, with its dungeon of death, and the overhanging gloom on the House of Usher demonstrate unforgettably the unique imagination of Edgar Allan Poe. Unerringly, he touches upon some of our greatest nightmares: Premature burial, ghostly transformation, words from beyond the grave. Written in the 1840s, they have retained their power to shock and frighten even now.

From the creator of 'Cat Person' - the first short story to go viral - comes You Know You Want This, a compulsive collection about sex, dating and modern life. These are stories of women’s lives now. They also happen to be horror stories. In some, women endure the horror. In others, they inflict it. Here are women at work, at home, on dates, at the doctor’s, with their families and with their friends. Here are women grappling with desire, punishment, guilt and anger. These are stories that make you feel fascinated but repelled, scared but delighted, revolted but aroused.

"The Black Cat" tells an unforgettable tale of obsession, murder...and revenge! Poe's narrator, who admits to horribly mistreating the eponymous house pet, is forced to deal with the bizarre and unexplainable repercussions of his own vicious cruelty.

Cat haters beware. This piece by H.P. Lovecraft is largely memoirish, whereby the narrator is compelled to tell the listener about Ulthar after petting his own cat. When a travelling caravan passes through, a young orphan named Menes finds his beloved black kitten has gone missing and fears the worst - that his kitten had suffered a torturous end at the hands of the town cat killers. Annoyed by the lack of action on the part of the townspeople, Menes invokes a prayer that results in the cats of the town rising and slaying the cat-killing couple.

In this third installment of the Creepsville Collection, we present a trio of creepy tales, all with a feline theme: "Symbiosis", "This Restless Night", and "Look What the Cat Dragged In". These yarns were crafted by an author who has cohabitated with many kitties over the years. Each story is brought to vivid life by the amazing narration and sound design skills of Noah DeBiase.

Between the loneliness of a new place and the unusual sounds of the night, Susan is having a hard time feeling comfortable in her new home. At least the neighbors seem nice so far, especially the cute little girl who dragged her into the nearby trees to tell her a secret. Whether she knows it or not, that secret will change her life forever.

As with most stories by Poe, there are far deeper meanings as the narrator takes us through his madness. Pluto his cat becomes a symbol of what is wrong in his, the narrator's, life. He tortures Pluto in a drunken stupor by cutting out his eye. He feels guilt for hurting a creature he once loved that also once loved him. The narrator continues to spiral into his web of self-destruction until he is penning his story the night before he will meet the same fate he imposed upon Pluto.

How easily does love turn to hate? In what is arguably one of Edgar Allen Poe's most disturbing tales, we join our narrator as he cruelly injures and betrays his once beloved cat. Our deeply disturbed narrator shows a malicious streak and lack of conscience that is painful to witness. The narrative forces us to question to what extent we can escape our conscience. As we realize all is not as it seems.

One night when the Count was reading a book on ghosts, he caught a glimpse of something in the corner of his eye that frightened the willies out of him. It was a black cat with blazing red eyes. The Count brushed it off as just his mind playing tricks on him. The cat leaped from the window sill onto the ground, and headed to the front door of the castle....

Edgar Allan Poe's horrific short story is the account of a man's irreversible journey into madness as he awaits his execution by hanging the next morning. Fueled by bouts of alcoholism and what seems an inborn fatal streak of madness, his manic extremes of violence and guilt demand attacks upon the innocent to alay his own self-hatred.

The Tell-Tale Heart is a clever classical gothic horror story birthed in 1843, by the quintessential short story extraordinaire Edgar Allan Poe. In this thrilling roller-coaster tale, we are granted access to the workings of the narrator’s heart - namely the confessions of the heart as well as the lack of having one. The year 1843 also gave birth to The Black Cat. This is arguably Poe’s darkest literary piece which bleeds the themes of brazen blame gaming, alcoholism, domestic violence, and the inescapability of one reaping what one has sown.

Un joven matrimonio lleva una vida hogareña apacible con su gato, hasta que el marido empieza a dejarse arrastrar por la bebida. El alcohol le vuelve irascible y en uno de sus accesos de furia acaba con la vida del animal.

Barry Pain was noted for his humorous tales of “Eliza” and her husband, but his tales of the weird and supernatural are equally noteworthy. This volume, More Tales in the Dark, contains eight of them.

Drac Von Stoller's fascination for the horror genre began when he was a little boy watching his favorite actors - such as Vincent Price, Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee and Bela Lugosi - on his little black-and-white television alone in his dark room. This chilling collection includes: "It's Dead Leave it Alone", "Haunted Hearse", "Tales from the Funeral Parlor", and "The Black Cat".
