We all know what artificial sweeteners are. I will hereafter call them noncaloric artificial sweeteners (NAS). Almost everyone has at least tasted some, and there are people who eat them daily, often in the form of soda pop. The FDA has done a good job determining they are relatively safe for you in the sense that they are not poisonous or cause cancer. That does not mean they are good for you. In my writings on diet and health, artificial sweeteners are often used to help one lose weight. Although it seems counter intuitive, they do not seem to work.
