This week on Two Ginger Gems, it's summer, sports and Rod and honestly, it doesn't get much better than that. The World Cup is finally here, Kate's backing Scotland (the Braveheart team of 2026, until they're inevitably out next week), and the Knicks won the NBA Finals. Rod Stewart at the Hollywood Bowl was everything Paul Simon was not - 25 bangers, not one miss. James has a story about Keanu Reeves on a roof and the Batmobile at Television City. There's a wild Netflix documentary called Maternal Instinct, new TV series Cape Fear with Javier Bardem doing terrifying things Kate finds inexplicably attractive, Point Break gets a classic movie shoutout, and Angry, Raucous, and Shamelessly Gorgeous at the Geffen is worth seeing right now. Plus, the Isabella Blow biopic is finally happening, David Hockney and Gene Shalit have passed, Solvang is the summer day trip you didn't know you needed, and Brighton does something magnificent with Fat Boy Slim and a tunnel full of fascists. The card this week is Isolation, and it's a good one.

This week on Two Ginger Gems, it's the Sweet 16th episode and James is back to a normal colour, well, almost. Cousin Lyn is still in town and she and James took a four-day cruise to Catalina and Ensenada, and Kate tried, and failed, to win Diane Keaton's polka dot Ralph Lauren tie at the Bonham's auction. The Marilyn Monroe exhibition at the Academy Museum is a must-see, Paul Simon at the Hollywood Bowl was beautiful but baffling, the Magic Flute at the Dorothy Chandler is the opera for people who think they don't like opera, and Broadchurch gets a passionate recommendation along with a cautionary tale about the American remake. Plus the George Martin Beatles score book is something extraordinary, Eddie finally gets to pull the tarot card, and a new summer segment is born.

This week on Two Ginger Gems, James went to Phoenix, took a train to the Grand Canyon with his cousin Lyn, who's joining them in the studio, forgot the sunblock was in his pocket the entire time, and is now essentially a lobster. Kate and Mikki went to see Backrooms and she came out genuinely baffled (she means that as a compliment). There's the Queen Elizabeth fashion exhibition at the King's Gallery that you need to know about, open until April 2027, and apparently the best thing of its kind they've ever done. Legends on Netflix with Steve Coogan is the true story you won't believe actually happened, dinner with chef Nancy Silverton was a delicious experience, and Minnie's Moaning Minute has thoughts on the feedback email situation. Lyn pulls the tarot card. It's Totality. Perfect.
