In this low budget masterpiece, a runaway criminal breaks into an eerie chateau, taking its two frightened chambermaids hostage. As night falls, a group of mysterious aristocratic women arrive and the criminal begins to realize the women are hiding a sinister secret.

This week in the third dimension, James discusses 80s 3D and modern 3D cinema technology.

This week on Tonight's Second Feature, James & Rhys watch Ticks! 1993, with a runtime of only 85 minutes. Problem teens in Los Angeles join an inner-city wilderness project in an attempt to get back in touch with life's priorities, led by do-gooders Holly and Charles. When they get to the campsite, they begin having problems adjusting to the wild life, particularly local marijuana growers using herbal steroids to accelerate plant growth, and the mutated ticks that the leaky steroid system has created.

Ticks stars Peter Scolari as Charles Danson, Seth Green as Tyler Burns, Rosalind Allen as Holly Lambert, Ami Dolenz as Dee Dee, Alfonso Ribeiro as Panic, and Clint Howard as Jarvis.

This week on Tonight's Second Feature, James & Rhys get a little tipsy and watch The Deadly Bees 1966.

Pop singer Vicki Robbins collapses from exhaustion while shooting the 1960s equivalent of a music video, and her physician prescribes a respite on Seagull Island with colleague and beekeeper Ralph Hargrove. Vicki finds the Hargroves' bitter marital strife oddly relaxing, but when a mysterious swarm of specially-bred attack bees starts killing island residents, Vicki fights for her survival, setting fire to nearly half the structures on the island in her escape.

Starring Suzzanna Leigh as Vicki Robbins, Frank Finlay as H W Manfred, Guy Doleman as Ralph Hargrove and Catherine Finn as Mary Hargrove. The Deadly Bees made little buzz when initially distributed and years later still failed to gain a cult following despite being the first killer bee flick. So here we are today, celebrating its fandom.
