It has been a year since I watched and heard my mom breathe her last breath, and it has not gotten any easier, but he ability to cope has. I have since learned to seek the help and education that I need to help with the grieving process. I started listening to this podcast called Men's Alliance, and from that I have started building on to my male friendships, reading books like Disciplines of A Godly Man (R. Kent Hughes), Renewing Your Mind In A Mindless World (James Montgomery Boice), and Gates of Fire (Steven Pressfield). I talk a little about how this has helped me grow and deal with this loss. Hello, fam! This is the first Christmas without my mom and I just wanted to share some thoughts about what has been going on. Even before my mom passed away I always get in funny mood as this arts to wind down, I do not know what it is. Call it nostalgic,sad, slightly depressed. I don't know, but I try to hold on to Christmas as long as I can by staring at lights, watching a movies, and listening to music, but no matter what I do that feeling just starts to fade away, and I am only left with knowing that I will have wait an entire year that takes so long, but goes so fast. Now, with children this feeling has altered drastically. Hope you enjoy the listen.
