The Way of the Camera is about a mindful approach to photography and an artistic approach life, so that we can be present in the here and now, live with intention and experience wholeness. Photography as a spiritual practice is

  • A way of noticing.
  • A way of feeling deeply.
  • A way of touching what is real.

When we are drawn to the moments just before something happens - the pause before an emotion settles, the almost-visible truth inside a place or a scene - the photographs captures an intensity that is not loud but alive - a state of being in‑tention - the calm energy in the air that signals presence.

“The Way of the Camera” is his ongoing exploration of the journey how to see, how to become, and how the camera can guide us toward the truth that waits beneath the surface of things.

This podcast invites you to explore photography as a way of being. One that fosters self-discovery, presence and kindness to navigate through life with authenticity and relatedness.

  • five pictures of april

Creating from within has two dimensions. One is to be connected with our inner being. The other is to truly be in the moment — not observing it, but part of it. The photographer and the photograph become one thing.

Five photographs of April - not all of them worked — and the ones that didn't taught me more than the ones that did. This is a reflection on the difference between capturing a moment and being inside it, and what one woman in a red coat showed me about the way I want to make pictures.

Reflections on mindfulness, photography, and the practice of presence.

Last month, my wife Rafaela said something profound that deeply resonated with me:

"I want to create my reality from my heart, not from my mind."

In March I photographed a bench, a cherry plum tree, a canal, a swan disappearing into dark water, and some dried grass that moved like waves.

Nothing dramatic. Just ordinary moments from an ordinary month.

But that's what I keep coming back to — beauty doesn't wait for better times. It's already here, asking to be noticed.

Sometimes all it takes is stopping long enough to look.

Have a look at the images here.
