This week's show begins with more on European heatwaves, German courts charge a Ukrainian military man and the government with involvement in the Nord Stream pipeline explosion, a special on the 250th anniversary of the US, Cuba requests a hearing at the UN on US aggression and energy blockade, and the "Board of Peace" has big plans for Gaza.

This week's show features stories from Radio Deutsche-Welle and Radio Havana Cuba. http://youthspeaksout.net/swr260703.mp3 (29:00) From GERMANY- Clearly one of the major topics in Europe this week was the all time record breaking heat in many countries. All the reports I heard directly attributed the heat to human induced climate change, primarily due to fossil fuels. Europe is warming at twice the rate of the global average- and as I record this record temperatures are expected for many parts of the US. The report is an excerpted interview with Liz Bentley, Chief Executive of the Royal Meteorological Society in the UK. This week German courts charged a Ukrainian member of the armed forces with being involved in bombing the Nord Stream pipeline in September 2022 which ended Russian supplied gas to Germany through the Baltic Sea. The court then went on to accuse the Ukrainian government with involvement in the sabotage which was vehemently denied by Zelensky when the attack occurred. Then there was a DW special called "How the US shapes the world- 250 years of power and policy." It is an historical viewpoint on the US celebration of 250 years since signing the declaration of Independence. In this excerpted version the questions of American isolation, diplomacy, and wars are considered. Most of the founding fathers were opposed to getting too involved in foreign conflicts. Researchers counted 500 US foreign interventions globally, a third of them in Latin America, and a new one every year since 1974. The US has also built one of the largest diplomatic networks in the world to maintain ties with other governments. In recent times China has become the biggest diplomatic player in the world. In recent years the US global image has declined in 45 out of 48 countries surveyed. From CUBA- Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez announced a request for a UN session next Tuesday to address the US economic and now energy blockade, and its multi-dimensional aggression against Cuba. In Peru Keiko Fujimori, daughter of the former disgraced dictator of the country, appears to have won the Presidential election, with overseas voters giving her the victory. Israel has continued to attack Lebanon raising fears that Tel Aviv wants to wreck the peace deal with Iran. Israeli attacks continued in Gaza while the so-called Board of Peace is planning a sweeping grant of immunity for itself, and the ability to obtain public property free of charge. This week's show begins with a report and analysis of the record breaking heat in much of Europe, press on the UN Report on Israeli war crimes and genocide, Cuban Foreign Ministers respond to Marco Rubio and US actions on Cuba, and 76% of people surveyed worldwide have no confidence in Trump.

This week's show features stories from Radio Deutsche-Welle, France 24, Radio Havana Cuba, and NHK Japan. http://youthspeaksout.net/swr260626.mp3 (29:00) From GERMANY- A great deal of international news focused on the record breaking heatwaves in parts of Europe. UN Secretary-General Guterres called for immediate action to reduce greenhouse gases and not allow data centers unless self powered by renewable energy. An excerpted interview with Samantha Burgess of the EU's Copernicus Climate Change Service. She describes what is causing the current heat wave, whether these events will continue to get worse, and why Europe is heating up twice as fast as most of the world. From FRANCE- First a press review about Kier Starmer's resignation as the UK Prime Minister. Press reviews on the UN report on Israeli genocide of Palestinian children- the press stated the case of 21,000 dead children, but also emphasized that anyone under 18 is considered a child and many of those fighting the Israeli troops were young. There were two devastating earthquakes in Venezuela and it is feared that thousands are dead. From CUBA- Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez criticized and corrected recent pronouncements by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio about Cuban incompetence and changes in government structure. A Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister Josefina Vidal Ferreiro spoke with a Mexican newspaper about the discussions that have been taking place between Cuba and the US, which she reports have not reached any significant progress- she says the US wants to dictate changes and keeps adding aggressive sanctions. The Bolivian right-wing President Paz has declared a state of emergency, using the military to end weeks of indigenous and union led protests calling for an end to austerity measures. More details about the 88 page United Nations report stating that Israel was committing genocide war crimes against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and West Bank. Lebanon reports that Israel has killed nearly 4000 citizens. From JAPAN- Many Japanese politicians are calling for preparations for a new era of warfare and reconsidering the principle of not allowing nuclear weapons into Japan. A new opinion poll found that worldwide 76% of people surveyed have no confidence in president Trump. Zelensky announced more drone attacks on petroleum facilities in Russia far from the border. Netanyahu announced military actions will continue in Palestine. This week's show begins with an interview with a political scientist researching why the leaders of most countries are twice the age of the average citizens, several reports on the G7 summit, several reports and press reviews on the agreement between the US and Iran, massive drone strike by Ukraine on Moscow, and the US military does a deadly strike inside Venezuela.

This week's show features stories from Radio Deutsche-Welle, France 24, NHK Japan, and Radio Havana Cuba. http://youthspeaksout.net/swr260619.mp3 (29:00) From GERMANY- An interview with Aksel Sundstrom a political scientist at the University of Gothenburg and co-author of a book entitled “Youth Without Representation.” They discuss the fact that most leaders in the world are twice the age of the average citizen and how this alters their priorities. It is often said that age brings wisdom but clearly that is not always accurate- and most corporations are not led by people over 70. It has been noted that after a certain age politicians stop talking about the future. From FRANCE- At the G7 summit in France the leaders did not issue a joint comprehensive statement but did reaffirm some comments on Iran, Taiwan, and Ukraine. A professor from Kelo University commented on the G7 statement. Indian Prime Minister Modi agreed to strengthen ties with French President Macron and double bilateral trade. Modi also spoke with Trump about the three Indian crewmen murdered when the US military attacked a commercial NHK ship in the Strait of Hormuz. From JAPAN- An international press review on the agreement between the US and Iran. Ukraine launched the largest drone attack yet on Moscow, hitting stores, apartments, and another oil refinery creating severe pollution in the city- the NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte praised Ukraine for killing over 30,000 Russians per month. From CUBA- A Cuban delegation to the UN spoke out about eradicating global colonialism. The Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel expressed gratitude to Colombia for a shipment of 100 tons of humanitarian aid. The US military did a strike inside Venezuela to kill an alleged gang leader while continuing to attack boats alleged to be transporting drugs in the Caribbean Sea and Pacific Ocean. In Gaza Israel continues to carry out deadly attacks on Palestinians. Dan Roberts "During the Cold War, a group of Russian journalists toured the United States. On the final day of their visit, they were asked by their hosts for their impressions. 'I have to tell you,' said their spokesman, 'that we were astonished to find after reading all the newspapers and watching TV, that all the opinions on all the vital issues were by and large, the same. To get that result in our country, we imprison people, we tear out their fingernails. Here, you don't have that. What's the secret? How do you do it?'
