  • The Less Desirables: May 20, 2026 – No Mystery, Just Drood
    May 21 2026

The Less Desirables Recorded in The Such-N-Such Media Studios at Liberty Plaza.

This week on The Less Desirables, Tim and Bethany celebrate World Bee Day, ‘E’ turning five, and Tim’s uncanny ability to remember every birthday in the family. They also welcome back one of the show’s favorite humans, Jessica Perry from The Little Theatre of Winston‑Salem, who arrives with cast members Robin Shapllo and Heather Levinson.

The trio is here to talk about The Mystery of Edwin Drood, opening June 5 at Hanesbrands Theatre. It is not your typical musical. It is immersive, unpredictable, and powered by audience votes that determine the detective, the murderer, and the secret lovers. No two shows are the same, and even the cast has not seen every possible ending.

Jessica, Robin, and Heather break down the show’s wild structure, the joy of performing with an ensemble that doubles as a live band, and the thrill of interacting with an audience that is encouraged to laugh, react, and even sit on stage as part of the set. They also talk about the brilliance of Rupert Holmes, the costumes, the music, and the sheer talent packed into this production.

Tim plays a little Rupert Holmes for context, much to the delight of some and the horror of others. The cast shares their favorite endings, their favorite confessions, and the moments they cannot wait for audiences to experience. It is a lively, funny, behind‑the‑scenes look at a show that promises to be one of the most entertaining productions of the season.

Get your tickets early. With only eleven performances and endless possible outcomes, this is a show people will want to see more than once.

    May 13 2026

The Less Desirables Recorded in The Such-N-Such Media Studios at Liberty Plaza.

Tim and Bethany talk about B’s attendance at a Chris Rock concert. Or, so it was told at the beginning, when she kept talking about some “brown-chicka-brown-orangutan-t*tt*es” song. It turns out, she went to a Kid Rock concert, and the song she was referring to was “Bawitdaba.” They talked about “Downtown happenings,” too. And, she walked out with an “F-Bomb!”

  • The Less Desirables: April 29, 2026 – Lighten Up! It’s Whiten Up!
    Apr 30 2026

The Less Desirables Recorded in The Such-N-Such Media Studios at Liberty Plaza.

Tim and Bethany sit down with Reece Welch of Whiten Up Teeth Whitening for a conversation that ranges from ladybugs and invasive beetles to entrepreneurship, family business, and the unexpected path that led Reece from mechanic work to sales to running a spa‑based whitening brand with his mom and sister.

Reece talks about the evolution of Whiten Up, the shift from corporate dentistry to a relaxing whitening experience, the rebranding and modernization he helped drive, and the family‑run model behind both locations in Kernersville and Clemmons. He also shares the personal side of the last few years, including caring for his grandmother and learning how much relationships matter in business.

The episode winds through sales stories, customer care, small‑business realities, and the crossover between whitening clients and cigar‑lounge regulars. Music makes its way in, too, with Reece’s playlist jumping from Van Halen to Linkin Park to Morgan Wallen.

It’s a full‑range TLD hangout: business, life, side quests, and plenty of personality.

  • The Less Desirables: April 22, 2026 – Emily Emerson, E(a)rnestly
    Apr 23 2026

The Less Desirables Recorded in The Such-N-Such Media Studios at Liberty Plaza.

Tim and Bethany welcome actor and playwright Emily Emerson to the studio for a wide‑open conversation that moves from New Orleans adventures to local theatre and the craft of adaptation. Bethany recaps her recent trip to New Orleans, complete with pedicabs, beignets, absinthe, and a tour through the city’s stranger corners. Emily jumps right in, sharing her appreciation for Winston‑Salem’s small, art‑filled spaces.

The episode shifts into Emily’s work on stage, including her recent performance in The Book of Will at the Little Theatre of Winston‑Salem. Tim discusses the production’s chemistry, the ensemble’s strength, and Emily’s standout performance as Alice. From there, Emily discusses her next project: adapting Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest into a streamlined, modern‑paced version titled Earnest. She walks through the process, the challenges of cutting a script, and the production’s upcoming timeline.

It’s a relaxed, funny, and thoughtful episode that blends travel stories, theatre talk, and a look behind the scenes at how a classic play becomes something new.

  • The Less Desirables: April 15, 2026 – Cracks, Facts, and No Bubble Wrap
    Apr 16 2026

The Less Desirables Recorded in The Such-N-Such Media Studios at Liberty Plaza.

Tim and Bethany welcome Dr. Leah Foster, a chiropractic physician who brings a mix of science, humor, and straight talk to the studio. The conversation covers how she found her way into chiropractic care, why a car accident changed her career path, and how a five‑foot‑nothing chiropractor once cracked her like a glow stick and proved technique matters more than size.

Leah talks about building a practice that feels more like a cottage than a clinic, why patient comfort matters, and how she approaches care with precision instead of theatrics. She breaks down what chiropractic actually treats, what it does not, and why the YouTube cracking videos are entertainment rather than medicine. The group gets into spine mechanics, the autonomic nervous system, and the difference between real adjustments and the performative stuff that goes viral.

They also touch on insurance frustrations, MD relationships, pediatric adjustments, and the satisfaction of helping people who arrive skeptical and leave relieved. It is an easy, funny, grounded conversation with someone who clearly loves what she does.
