  • James Bond The Spy Who Loved Me
    Nov 20 2025

Christopher Wood's novelisation of his screenplay of The Spy Who Loved Me (co-written with Richard Maibaum) is unlike most novelisations a reimagining of the story. Wood's James Bond is closer to Ian Fleming and the tone of the book is much darker than the film with many differences from the finished movie. Chris Eels who you can follow on Instagram joins me to talk all things Bond.

These reviews and in-depth look at the books are interesting for Bond fans. Sometimes let down by the fact that either the reviewer and/or his guest
don’t know enough about or possibly haven’t read the book they are actually reviewing.
In particular this is an obvious failing regarding some of the follow on books which is a shame. Easy fix however. Read the books!
