Amazing from start to finish narrative wise. Abit rough audio wise at start but what do you expect.

Relaxed, expressive and definitive. Only Dan Carlin compares in making history come alive like this.

This well-told history of Rome gathers all the detail and nuance of a distant history in a knowing, often humorous but always relatable telling, casually but carefully delivered. I love this series.

Both a salve and a warning

if you aren't a university scholar of history this is the podcast for you. the audio improves after a handful of episodes and he brilliantly gives the listener through all the characters over the centuries.

I don't listen to many podcasts. In fact, although I have a few in my library, this is the only one! I've on a bit of an ancient Rome binge at the moment (and trying to learn Latin! 😫) so this podcast kinda found me. I'm listening to about four episodes a day - can't put it down so to speak. Truly excellent, and Mike Duncan delivers it exceptionally well. Congrats on what is an excellent educational resource 👏 👏
