46: The Original Marvel Years, Droids & Ewoks
    Oct 8 2026

And so...at the end of the journey...was not even just Droids and Ewoks again but also ANOTHER re-telling of the first Star Wars movie?!?! At least it's gorgeous! And hey! Now 3 of the 5 episodes of our special Patreon finale mini-series, Tracking Bantha Tracks, where the boys spend SUPERSIZED episodes, tracking the fan newsletter from BEFORE there was a magazine, from 1978-1987 are available early for Legacy of the Force patrons and above at Patreon.com/SWOCBC! It's the same price as a few cups of caf a month and we could use the support!

    45: Ewoks Season 2
    Sep 24 2026

Everyone's back for season 2 of the Ewoks cartoon...but something's...just a little...different? Whether by corporate edict or for creative purposes, each episode is now split into two shorter episodes, which is not exactly better, and not exactly worse, and Wicket's hood changing color is the LEAST of Alex, Davis, and Jesse's problems on this week's SWOCBC!

And if you like what you hear, consider supporting us on Patreon, where you can check out the first two episodes of our MEGA-SIZED finale bonus Tracking Bantha Tracks, where the boys spend hours speeding through the fan club newsletter from BEFORE it was a magazine, finally giving them a glimpse at fandom as the movies were releasing and in the dark uncertain years beyond! For instant early access, head over to Patreon.com/SWOCBC and sign up on the Legacy of the Force tier or higher!

Context - I read Splinter of the Minds Eye when it was first released in the late 70s. I still have my original copy of the paperback, but I haven't read it since that first time. I also have the comic book version of the same story, released about 20 years ago by Dark Horse Comics.

Splinter of the Minds Eye is a forgettable story when you consider what transpired afterwards, but it has a nostalgic charm, which is exactly what this podcast conveys, in the guys' own funny style. I laughed out loud at most of their comments. I can imagine them in some kind of frat house, drinking beer and just BS-ing about this great book, and it is utterly hilarious.

I don't know anything about these guys, but I'm going to tune in for more and hopefully get more frivolous mirth surrounding the old Star Wars Expanded Universe (EU), before the EU even became a thing.

What this podcast has done, is make me reach for my bookshelf and dust off my aged copy of Splinter...

These guys are hilarious
