RecipeZZZ for Sleep

By: Pink Peony Studio
  • Summary

  • Bedtime stories for food lovers.

Let me quietly read you to sleep with cookbook recipes. They’re not meant to actually cook from (they're from the public domain). Think of this podcast as a kind of white noise for the culinarily inclined: a salve for your insomnia.

Let's sift out the detritus of the day, mix up a batter of calm that your mind can bake in its own warm oven and bring you a delicious serving of that ever-elusive sleep.

  • Special Episode: Breathwork - Box Breathing
    Jun 29 2020

Special Episode: Whenever you find yourself feeling stressed, anxious or overwhelmed, you can try this Breathwork exercise called Box Breathing.

Think of an image of a box with four equal sides. Your Box Breathing pattern will be just like those four equal sides.

Inhale through the nose for 4 counts. Hold for 4 counts. Exhale through the mouth for 4 counts. Hold for 4 counts. Repeat as many times as you like.

Be sure to breathe deep into the belly, not the chest, throat or shoulders. If it's helpful to you, place one hand on your belly to feel it rise and fall.

I hope this brings you peace and wellness wherever you are.

  • Special Episode: Breathwork - Basic Breathing
    Jun 29 2020

Special Episode: For these difficult times, I wanted to share an easy way to quickly calm and ground yourself whenever you need to.

Here is a simple Breathwork exercise. Simply inhale through the nose and exhale through the mouth. It sounds simple because it is. But sometimes, we need reminders for this most basic tool we have with us and within us. Just be sure to breathe into your belly, not your shoulders or chest.

I hope this brings you peace and wellness.
