Aidan O'Brien is a central character in this week's edition of The Front Page.

Lee Mottershead, Matthew Rennie and Oliver Barnard look back on Newmarket's Future Champions Weekend, during which Coolmore's O'Brien-trained Darkness Falls defeated Godolphin's Desert Castle, in the process sparking talk of a Triple Crown challenge.

After a week in which Godolphin and Coolmore also went head to head in the sales ring at Tattersalls, the two superpowers will again be major players on British Champions Day at Ascot, where O'Brien and Andrew Balding are set to fight out a crucial set of skirmishes in the battle to be British champion trainer.

Also on the show, the team ask if the Guineas trials come too early, consider why the number of new trainers has fallen in Britain and Ireland and debate the admission of geldings into the Arc in light of Coolmore backing a petition that calls on the decision to be reversed.
