DC United are officially eliminated from the playoffs, and on the season's final show, Jon and Ted ask why they keep showing up.

In this episode:

• The 2-1 loss to Toronto FC that ended DC United’s season
• Reported comments from Managing Director of Soccer Operations Erkut Sogut about whether René Weiler was his hire
• Is DC United cheap with its front office staff, and was the winter spending about building a team or keeping up appearances?
• Run it back with Weiler and Sogut, or start over? And who would even want this coaching job?
• Going through the roster contract by contract: who stays, who goes, and who’s a buyout candidate
• Should DC United spend now for the sprint season or wait for the summer window?
• A listener asks how close Jon and Ted are to giving up the pod
• The best moment of a rough season

Two more losses, and the math is done. Jon and Ted accept that DC United's season is over, then ask the harder question: after a lost decade, what has to change, and who is responsible? In this episode: - Why DC United can't finish higher than ninth - Chance creation: the obvious problem nobody fixed - Lucas Bartlett's frustration and René Weiler's response - A Patreon member's rant: is another teardown coming? - Does Jason Levien care about winning, or only franchise value? - The Audi Field roof hearing, and why the Spirit and Trinity Rodman matter more to the city - Listener questions: supporter boycotts, a DC United drinking game, Nikola Markovic at forward, and who to root for in the playoffs

Why do former DC United players start scoring the moment they leave? Jon compares the club to a car whose designer changes every 20 minutes: one wants triangle wheels, the next wants a tank, and at the end everyone blames the parts.

Jon and Ted break down a 2-1 win over the New York Red Bulls in what may be the last Atlantic Cup, then a 4-1 loss at Orlando City without the suspended Lucas Bartlett.

In this episode:
- The final Atlantic Cup and that Red Bulls and DC United social media collab
- Oscar Avilez's first start, a week after the hosts asked for the kids
- Why former DC United players thrive at their next clubs
- Sean Johnson's case for a raise, and Ted's referee take on Bartlett's second yellow
- Orlando's summer signings and DC United's thin roster
- The playoff slap fest, how to measure progress, and what the hosts want to hear from René Weiler and ownership

Next match: DC United at FC Cincinnati, Wednesday, October 21, then the return match at Audi Field on Saturday, October 24.
