I've recently become the steward of a beautiful 2014 Com-Pac Yachts Horizon Day Cat catboat, S/V The Bobbasina. I need to learn all that I can about how to go about moving from sailing sloops to catboats, so I reached out to two of my good friends, Skipper Al Santini and Skipper Ken Johansen, about their own personal journeys of going from sailing their former sloops to their current catboats, a Com-Pac Yachts Horizon Cat (Skipper Al!) and Com-Pac Yachts Sun Cat (Skipper Ken!). Ken and Al talk about the reasons why they decided to get into catboats, the “catboat vibe,” their catboat rigs, how catboats sail, what they love about catboats, and a ton more! If you are curious out catboat sailing, this episode is sure to strike a chord in you -- this is an absolutely fantastic conversation about Ken and Al's interesting experiences with going from sailing sloops to catboats!

PLEASE BE KIND -- I'm no expert -- I'm just a regular gal learning as I go! Also, I don't have a huge budget dedicated to equipment and/or other resources for recording audio -- but, I put lots of love and time into creating these podcasts in the hopes that sharing what I learn might help you!

In today's episode, I share a story that's one I hope you'll never have to go through firsthand! I talk about what happened, how things went wrong, and how to go about picking up the pieces when something unfortunate and unforeseeable strikes. Let's face it -- "stuff happens" -- and just when you least expect it! I also reveal some incredibly uplifting news -- so stick around and take a listen!

Today’s show is one I’ve been wanting to bring to you for a long time — an in-depth conversation about one of Com-Pac Yachts' most popular models, the Com-Pac Sun Cat. S/V Sandpiper Sun Cat owners/sailors/adventurers, Lisa and Bob, sit down with me to talk all-things Sun Cat — everything from her strengths to her “areas for improvement” — and why all of these things add up to the perfect boat for adventuring! We also talk about their other four sailboats, plus their experience with respect to sailing S/V Sandpiper in the Texas 200 mess-about over the past several years.

For a complete photo gallery of things we discussed during the podcast, please visit https://passagesfromtheheart.wordpress.com/podcasts/, and then scroll down to Episode 37, ‘The Com-Pac Sun Cat with Adventurers Lisa & Bob.’
