  • Love as a Practice with Tula Bischof
    Nov 5 2026
What if love isn't something we feel, but something we practice? In this deeply intimate and intellectually expansive conversation, P is for Pleasure host Tiana Hercules sits down with Tula Bischof, a psychologist and decolonial thinker who is reimagining what mental health, emotional wellness, and human connection can look like when we center love, responsibility, and cultural knowledge. Tula's work challenges the Western psychological frameworks that have dominated our understanding of mental health and invites us to consider: What if the way we've been taught to understand ourselves is incomplete? Together, Tiana and Tula explore decolonial psychology, emotional honesty, living lovingly, and what it means to build a life guided not by productivity or symptom reduction, but by connection, freedom, and responsibility to ourselves, each other, and the world. This conversation asks us to reconsider everything we think we know about emotions, relationships, intimacy, self-awareness, and what it actually means to be well. In this episode, we explore: • Tula's journey from horses and family dynamics to becoming a psychologist • What decolonial psychology actually means and why it matters • Who gets to decide what's "normal," functional, or healthy • Why therapy language hasn't necessarily made us healthier • The difference between protecting your peace and avoiding intimacy • Radical honesty and emotional companionship • Why self-awareness isn't enough without responsibility • Love as a practice, not just a feeling • What Western psychology has lost by centering the individual • Pluriversal psychology and honoring multiple ways of knowing • Why pleasure can be a source of self-knowledge and liberation • African approaches to mental health, conflict resolution, and community care • What it means to live lovingly in a world that rewards disconnection Tula's work is grounded in the belief that we cannot separate a person's mental health from their environment, history, culture, and the systems they navigate daily. And that healing isn't just an individual journey. It's relational. It's communal. It's political. This episode will challenge you to ask bigger questions about the stories you've inherited, the emotions you've been taught to suppress, and the relationships you've been conditioned to abandon instead of repair. Because love isn't passive. Love is a practice. And it requires us to show up fully, messily, and honestly. If this conversation resonates with you, share it with someone who needs permission to feel more, connect more deeply, and live more lovingly. Tell us in the comments: In what ways are you now inspired to live more lovingly? Subscribe to P is for Pleasure for conversations about intimacy, identity, healing, relationships, sexuality, embodiment, and the lives women are choosing to create for themselves. Oct 28 2026
Good Girls Have Vibrators Too! | Bev Munga, The Vibrating Lawyer | EP 8 Who said good girls don't have vibrators? And who decided pleasure was something women should whisper about? This week on P is for Pleasure, we're turning up the fun with Bev Munga, aka The Vibrating Lawyer, an attorney, pleasure entrepreneur, and the woman behind Gspot Kenya! We're talking sex toys, sexual curiosity, cultural taboos, and the wonderfully complicated relationship women have with their own pleasure. And yes, we brought out a few toys! Bev takes us through her sexy superhero origin story—from the legal world to the business of pleasure—and shares what her journey has taught her about women, sexuality, and the cultural attitudes that shape how we experience desire. Together, we're busting myths, answering questions you might be too shy to ask, and exploring why women's pleasure still makes so many people uncomfortable. In this episode, we're getting into: How Bev became The Vibrating Lawyer What Kenyan women are teaching us about pleasure and sexual curiosity The myths and misconceptions surrounding sex toys How to choose your first pleasure product Whether vibrators really affect sensitivity Sex toys, relationships, and why pleasure isn't a competition Breaking free from the expectations placed on so-called "good girls" Why curiosity, laughter, and playfulness belong in our intimate lives And because Bev is a lawyer, you know we had to put a few pleasure myths on trial! Consider this your permission slip to get curious, ask questions, laugh out loud, and explore what feels good. Because pleasure isn't a luxury. It's a practice. • I Want to Be Well-Rested, Well-Paid & Well-F*cked | P is for Pleasure
    Oct 23 2026
I want to be a well-rested, well-paid, and well-f*cked woman. And honestly? I want the same for you. But being “well-f*cked” isn't simply about having great sex. For me, it's about becoming the kind of woman who knows herself well enough to recognize what she wants, values herself enough to believe she deserves it, and trusts herself enough to stop accepting what doesn't meet her needs. And that doesn't begin—or end—in the bedroom. In this solo episode of P is for Pleasure, I'm unpacking my Well-Rested, Well-Paid & Well-F*cked framework and the connections I see between pleasure, rest, money, confidence, self-advocacy, relationships and the way we move through the world. Because I've become increasingly convinced that these things aren't nearly as separate as we've been taught to believe. Being well-rested is about having a life that doesn't require your constant depletion. Being well-paid is about resources, agency and the ability to make choices. And being well-fucked? That's about sex, yes. But it's also about knowing your body, articulating your needs and desires, refusing to abandon yourself to keep someone else comfortable, and choosing relationships capable of meeting the woman you've become. The bedroom isn't necessarily where that transformation begins. Sometimes it's where you discover whether it's actually happened. This one is personal. It's a theory I'm still living, testing and becoming.
