In this episode of the Outlaw God Podcast, Dr. Steven Paulson and Caleb Keith begin the third volume of Luther's Outlaw God, focusing on the Holy Spirit and the sacraments. They explain why Lutherans believe God gives us faith through His Word and Sacraments, rather than through our feelings or personal experiences. They also discuss how God gives us the full promise of forgiveness in baptism, yet allows our faith to be tested and attacked. This raises the question of why God gives us His promises and then leaves us to struggle with doubt and suffering.

In this episode of Outlaw God Podcast, Dr. Steven Paulson and Caleb Keith introduce Luther's Outlaw God, Volume 3, which focuses on the Holy Spirit and the sacraments. They discuss how the Holy Spirit creates and strengthens faith through God's promises in Baptism and the Lord's Supper, even as the devil attacks those promises and tries to make us doubt them. They also discuss Martin Luther's disagreement with Erasmus over free will and explain how Baptism gives us Christ and the assurance of the Gospel, where the law no longer accuses us. This episode was recorded live at Here We Still Stand 26 conference in San Diego.

In this episode of the Outlaw God Podcast, Dr. Steven Paulson and Caleb Keith continue exploring Martin Luther's discovery of what the sacraments really do. They explain how faith is not something we produce through our own efforts, but something grounded in Christ and His promises. Through His Word and Sacraments, Jesus doesn't just offer the possibility of forgiveness—He delivers it, giving sinners certainty and comfort instead of leaving them wondering whether God will show them mercy.
