    🎙️ NeuroWomen Natter – Season 2, Episode 1

ADHD Awareness Month: Beyond the Headlines

    We're BACK for Season 2!

October is ADHD Awareness Month, but with ADHD dominating the headlines, are we actually making progress when it comes to understanding, acceptance and inclusion?

In this episode, Toni Horn from NeuroEmpower CIC and Charlie Hart from Ausome Minds UK return after their summer break for another honest, unfiltered conversation about ADHD, misinformation, lived experiences and why awareness alone simply isn't enough.

As two neurodivergent women with ADHD, we're challenging stereotypes, sharing personal experiences and discussing what we REALLY want people to understand.

    💜 What We're Nattering About

🧠 ADHD Misinformation: Why claims that ADHD is a trend or that everyone has it now can be so damaging.

💜 Women and Late Diagnosis: Why so many women go unrecognised for decades and the impact of masking.

🔥 ADHD and Menopause: How hormonal changes can affect neurodivergent women.

💼 ADHD in the Workplace: Why awareness training isn't enough and what managers can do to create meaningful inclusion.

🧩 Executive Functioning: The hidden challenges of task initiation, planning, organisation, working memory and emotional regulation.

🎭 When Strengths Hide Struggles: Why being successful or capable doesn't mean someone isn't struggling behind the scenes.

✅ Reasonable Adjustments: What good workplace support looks like and why adjustments should be based on individual needs.

💬 Support Without Diagnosis: Why people shouldn't have to wait for a diagnosis to receive understanding and practical support.

    Our Challenge to Employers

As ADHD Awareness Month comes to an end, we're encouraging managers to ask one simple question:

"What helps you do your best work, and is there anything getting in the way?"

Then listen, act and follow through.

Because awareness without action changes very little.

    🎉 Celebrating Two Years!

We're also approaching our second anniversary on 1 November! Two years, 23 episodes and plenty of honest conversations about neurodivergent life.

Thank you to everyone who continues to listen, share and support us.

This is NeuroWomen Natter, episode 21. In this open and honest conversation, two late-diagnosed neurodivergent women talk about what it really feels like to have been misunderstood for most of their lives. They explore the journey of climbing back, the gap between how they feel and how they think they are supposed to feel, and the frustration that comes with answers arriving so late. It is candid, heartfelt, and a reminder that you are not alone in any of it.

  • AuDHD and Me
    May 1 2026

We are chatting honestly about how autism and ADHD can sometimes disguise, clash with, compensate for, or even confuse each other. Because when you are both autistic and ADHD, it isn’t always easy to explain what is going on internally. Sometimes ADHD pushes you towards novelty, movement, impulsivity and big ideas. Sometimes autism craves routine, predictability, clarity and recovery time. And sometimes they both show up at once… leaving everyone confused, including us! You can expect brutal honesty, real-life experiences, laughter, and the kind of conversation that says the things many people are thinking but don’t always feel able to say out loud.
