The Rays lose 10-5 in extras to the Marlins. It was a pitchers duel for the first 7 innings. Nick Martinez started for the Rays and was fantastic once again. He went 6 IP striking out 4 not allowing any runs. The Marlins countered with Sandy Alacantra who went 6 innings himself not allowing any earned runs. The Rays did scratch across a run in the 3rd on a Chandler Simpson RBI single that made it 1-0. That score held until the 7th innings. The Marlins would blast a homer in the 7th to tie it and a RBI double in the 9th gave them the lead. The Rays would answer in the bottom of the 9th to tie the game and send it to extras. But that is where everything went downhill for the Rays. The Rays allowed 8 runs in the top of the 10th to put the game out of reach. The Rays will look to take the series tomorrow afternoon vs the Marlins.

The Rays blast the Marlins 7-2. The Rays got out to a blazing start. Yandy Diaz lined a 2 run homer in the 1st inning that made it 2-0. The Marlins would answer back in the 2nd with a solo homer of their own to make it 2-1. But the Rays would respond right back in the bottom of the 2nd with a big inning. It started with a Hunter Feduccia sac fly to make it 3-1. Then Taylor Walls got another run home to double the Rays score to 4-1. The Rays kept adding runs in the 4th with a big Taylor Walls 2 RBI double to make it 6-1. Cedric Mullins capped off a 4 hit game with a solo homer in the 6th which made it 7-2. The Rays had Ian Seymour open the game before Jesse Scholtens took over for the bulk innings. Scholtens stayed solid once again going 5 IP striking out 4 and not allowing any runs. The Rays will look to take the series tomorrow afternoon.
