We all pay the price for willful ignorance. Examples? Many of us were in denial about climate change. So instead of our leadership investing in renewable energy, we now all have to pay for the hellish results of global warming. We have a government that pretends it can do anything it wants to other nations, without regard to reality. Example: Iran. And now we are all paying the price in terms of death, injury, loss of military capability, financial devastation and certainly loss of respect and power in the world. And we are not exempt from our unconsciousness on a personal level either. Some of us don't want to know that using drugs or alcohol will ruin our health even though that information is readily available. Eventually we pay the price in terms of our health and our relationships. People say that what you don't know doesn't hurt you, but the opposite is the case.
