Hi there,

This is not really an episode but just a quick chat to explain what happened in June and what is going to happen over the next few months! Exciting news for me is that I have been asked to go on tour with Pub Choir and if you live in a capital city in either Australia or New Zealand, come to a show and say hi! I'll be standing behind the sound desk wondering what all the coloured buttons do 😅

You'll have to excuse my fan-boying but we have one of my all time favourite chats (🚨with a smidge of ranting thrown in🚨) about many varied subjects ranging from potential right-wing Koalas who may have Chlamydia 🐨, to AI robots that can compose a song from just a simple hum (f@ck you Suno 🖕🏼).

I'm super stoked to be celebrating this milestone episode with Dan 🎸& Sim 🥁from Boorloo / Perth band Gyroscope (Ps - no you're not seeing double & yes I know last episode we had Rob the Gyro's OG drummer…)

Not only are Dan & Sim helping me celebrate the 50th episode with me with their rad dinner party, but we all are celebrating the fact that Gyroscope have new music out ("My Broken Spine") & are hitting the road for shows this march & April (song links & tour dates are in the show notes)

Gyroscope were one of the first bands that I was lucky enough to tour with & their live show is non-stop energy💥…they are one of the best & entertaining live bands I have ever had the pleasure of mixing sound for & so I'm very pleased that they are back making fresh tunes for our ear holes 👂🏼& playing more shows for our eye balls 👀 🤘🏼

Dan, Sim & I have a great catch up about Gyroscopes new studio they built themselves, engineering & producing all their new music there by themselves plus also keeping chickens 🐓 before we settle in for a quality fantasy dinner party with some hella rockstars 🤩

Well hello & welcome to ep. 49 of the LWICFD! Podcast. It's been a minute (I was enjoying the summer 🏝️) so without anymore mucking around my guest for your ear holes is Rob Nassif! 💥

I met Rob over 20yrs ago when he was smashing drums in a band called Gyroscope. Many moons ago I was lucky enough to be invited to tour with Gyros for a few laps of the country as their sound engineer & tour manager and it was very good times!

Rob has now hung up the drumsticks after 20+ years tho and now is the owner of some amazing rehearsal & creative spaces called "The Hen House" in Boorloo, Perth & the newly constructed one in Naarm, Melbourne (which he also manages…) Speaking of management, in his 'spare' time 😅 Rob manages 2 hard working Aussie bands called RedHook & The Faim but most importantly he is a loving & devoted husband & father…man is busy so it was an absolute treat to catch up with him & hear some cool Gyro stories plus find out how he got to where he is now…

Westy is now kicking it as a handyman, man, who is based out of Woy Woy, 2256 👊🏽 and about 10 years ago I was even in a party jam band with him myself, called The Camrys 💃🏻🪩🕺

We have an epic and hilarious catch up as we just recently went to watch Metallica in Sydney & have a good nerd out about the gig as well as hearing about his rad stories touring with Doberman 🐾 as well as imagining hanging out with his 5 most excellent guests at the fantasy dinner party.

If you've ever been at a show by Cut Copy, Empire of the Sun, Jet, Wolfmother or Regurgitator to name but a few, JBR was probably out the front making them sound good and loud for your earholes. Jonboy toured the world for 32 years (😳) and recently hung up his frequent flyer card to concentrate on mixing and producing bands in his studio at home in Gadigal/Sydney.
