Too many ads -- AND LOUDER than the story repeatedly ruin atmosphere. Nevertheless after four rounds of them, they stopped thankfully. Nor does an amateur reader help: almost as ham-handed as AI. Of course Thorndyke stories themselves are usually excellent, and show up English justice as guided by unreason in many cases.
