    What does it actually mean to position ourselves to hear from God? This message takes us on a deep dive into the art of spiritual hearing, reminding us that the condition of our hearts determines our capacity to receive what God is saying. Drawing from James chapter one, verse twenty-one, we are shown that receiving the implanted word requires meekness, a humble and teachable posture that keeps the door of our hearts open. Pride, on the other hand, slams that door shut, leaving us going through the motions of faith without ever experiencing its transforming power. Psalm 100 gives us a practical roadmap for entering God's presence with intentionality, moving from joyful declaration to gratitude to praise, placing ourselves in the very vicinity where heaven speaks. The message also draws on the wisdom of Proverbs, showing us that wise people are listeners, and that safety, victory, and sound judgment all flow from surrounding ourselves with the right voices and keeping our ears where God has directed them. The challenge for us is not simply to hear inspiring words and move on, but to mix what we hear with faith, speaking it, declaring it, and letting it take root in our lives.

    What does it truly mean to hear from God, and why does how we hear matter just as much as what we hear? This message takes us on a deep dive into the spiritual discipline of hearing, reminding us that faith itself is born through hearing. Drawing from the sobering account of the Israelites in the wilderness, we are confronted with a powerful warning: a hardened heart is the enemy of a hearing ear. The Israelites witnessed miracle after miracle, yet their hearts drifted, and they missed the path God had prepared for them. The same danger exists for us today. When we allow hurt, offense, or comfort to calcify our hearts, we lose our ability to receive what God is actively speaking over our lives. The call is urgent and personal. God is not speaking to a distant institution or a select few leaders. He is speaking to each of us, right where we are, calling us into a posture of meekness and surrender that qualifies us to hear things we have never heard before. The question is not whether God is speaking. The question is whether we are positioned, softened, and inclined enough to receive it.

Are we asking timidly, settling for small and safe requests, or are we pressing in with the kind of shameless confidence that moves heaven? The message draws a striking parallel between her and the Roman centurion in Matthew 8, the only two people in all of Scripture whom Jesus called out for having great faith. Both were Gentiles, both were outside the expected circle of blessing, and both refused to be stopped by cultural barriers or protocol. The lesson is clear: great faith is not reserved for the spiritually elite. It belongs to anyone willing to believe boldly and hold on.
