Claudio F. Baroni is a composer whose work is characterized by what he calls “a systematic exploration of sound”, with particular attention to timbre, material, and physical properties. Originally from Rosario, Argentina, he has lived in Amsterdam most of his working life, where he has received commissions and performances from numerous ensembles across Europe, including Maze Ensemble, Slagwerkgroep Den Haag (HIIIT), Champ d’Action, Ensemble Integrales, and several Italian quartets. He has several recordings released on Unsounds and Moving Furniture Records, MOTUM, The Body Imitates the Landscape, Ursae Minoris, and the recent Re-Genetic. All of which we will like to talk about in this interview.
