I’m releasing this finally because for one I’ve been keeping quiet about some of the things that happened during my time booking shows, and then actually basically running the club known as Soma, and there was controversy over certain bands that would not play the club and reasoning for that as well as ever rumors that have percolated over the years about why certain bands would not play a club SOMA.

Justin Pearson is a friend who am I still consider a family, as my little brother. They are many attempts that I’ve done to Tell the story but always kept certain facts out due to the fact that for one I couldn’t remember certain things and for two the more I try to remember things , the more repressed memories come up and made it even more difficult to figure out the truth. Justin as well as the rest of his band struggle and the band short-lived and I were all what I would consider pretty damn good friends and that is the origin story of how I ended up at the club.

We address a few things, but we also just had a really good chat, but one thing that I want to make perfectly clear that this is a conversation between two friends and there’s no hidden agendas, but Justin reminds me of an incident that I have suppressed. I didn’t realize that it was the beginning of the end of friendships that to me, even to this day ,are more valuable than any and everything that I did at the club. I lost myself and had to reinvent myself and in an atmosphere where I needed as much support as possible yet unfortunately the truth had to be buried so that I could do my work, which was amazing and for nine years theres hardly a band that didn’t get an opportunity to play on a real stage. Even trying to do this intro is emotional, so I’ll leave you with this, there’s no love lost for the owner and for all the torment I had to endure and I have come to terms with the past .

I do have regrets but to be able to sit at the table with my friend and talk after almost 40 years is priceless .
