So what happened? Well, in 2005, an episode of the Mythbusters accidentally proved that a crime three men were accused of in 1986 was physically impossible. And two years later, one of these men saw the episode, and it started a process of his legal team using it to get him and the other two men exonerated. But the scary thing is that, somehow, even after they proved that they couldn’t have possibly committed the crime, it still took 17 years for them to be released.
