  • HiddenTrack #288 COLATURA (Jennica Best and Digo Degorio)
    Jan 29 2026

Colatura makes music that lives in the in-between: sometimes dreamy, sometimes heavy, and laced with fuzzy guitars, undeniable hooks, and raw storytelling. Long a fixture in the Brooklyn scene, the band relocated to Pittsburgh in 2024 and now splits their time between both cities.

Colatura’s new EP 'If I’m Being Honest' came out August 1st via Easy Does It Records. Produced by Nixon Boyd (Hollerado, Dizzy), the EP plays like a series of late-night confessionals - introspective, nostalgic, aching, and ultimately cathartic. It marks a new chapter for the band, expanding on the melodic, dreamy indie rock of their 2022 debut LP 'And Then I’ll Be Happy' and their 2024 A/B side 'Do You Miss Her' / 'Suffer Dude', which was produced by Aron Kobayashi Ritch (Momma, Kills Birds, Been Stellar).

Colatura’s music has earned praise from outlets such as FLOOD, Brooklyn Vegan, Under The Radar, Austin Town Hall, The Alternative, and Atwood Magazine, and landed spots on Spotify editorials such as All New Rock and Fresh Finds Rock, as well as regular radio rotation at stations like KEXP and WYEP, where they also performed a live set this past February. Described live as “like sunshine streaming out of an amp with the volume set at nine,” Colatura has shared a stage with bands such as DEHD, Slow Pulp, Mamalarky, Nation of Language, Toledo, Pom Pom Squad, Jessica Lea Mayfield, and will be supporting Blondshell this November.

With official showcases at SXSW, Capitol Hill Block Party, NXNE, New Colossus, WYEP’s Summer Music Festival, and Pittsburgh’s Millvale and Northside Music Festivals under their belt, Colatura is carving out their place in the indie rock landscape. Following the EP, the band hit the road for a US headline tour and has a European tour slotted for this fall.

  • HiddenTrack #287 M. BYRD
    Jan 22 2026

"M. Byrd found himself in a wholly foreign place upon becoming a father for the first time. Enveloped by the moment, the German singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer transfers this energy onto his 2025 full-length offering, A Better Place [Nettwerk]."

"He took the first step on this perpetual journey as a kid obsessed with music back in Germany. During 2020, he introduced his sound with the single “Mountain,” eclipsing 10.9 million Spotify streams and paving the way for the Orion EP. The latter boasted another fan favorite “Morning Sun,” which gathered 6.2 million Spotify streams. 2023 saw him serve up his first full-length LP, The Seed. Along the way, he incited tastemaker applause from EUPHORIA., 1883 Magazine, OnesToWatch, and more."

"Around the same time, the onset of fatherhood turned his world upside down in the best way. It effectively divided the writing process of A Better Place into two halves—physically represented by his young family’s move from Hamburg to Denmark."

“There are all of these songs before the birth and all of these songs after the birth,” he affirms. “I was able to reflect on myself and what was happening. I said, ‘Goodbye’, to a lot of friends in Hamburg and started a new life in Denmark. All of these changes happened, and I was really trying to put them into songs, so I would have them with me forever.”

"Ultimately, M. Byrd soundtracks the most universal experience of all: change."

  • HiddenTrack #286 TINY CITIES (Dennis King and Melissa Anthony)
    Jan 15 2026

On this week's episode I have the great pleasure of welcoming the authentic and harmonious indie folk duo, TINY CITIES. Not only are Tiny Cities a timeless and soulful group, they are the first fully signed artists to the new Hidden Tracks Records label (HTR). I may be biased, but they have a great beginning and several stories about their personal musical journeys that led them to what is now called, Tiny Cities.

  • HiddenTrack #285 BRUTALLIGATORS (Luke Murphy)
    Jan 8 2026

Brutalligators started in late 2016 when Paul and Luke met for a coffee and discovered a mutual love of 90s and 00s emo and hardcore. Having been in various hardcore and emo bands throughout the 00s and 10s, they decided to try and write some songs together and Brutalligators was born. Simo and Rhys joined soon after, before they debuted at The Good Ship in Kilburn in 2017. They self-released their first EP Animals I Wish I’d Seen in 2017, following with the second EP Friends I Wish I’d Had in 2019 via Real Ghost Records. Their debut album This House is Too Big, This House is Too Small was released in 2021 on Beth Shalom Records, which Noizze commented that the album “presents the band in their greatest, most intimate and most cathartic form.” Since releasing This House is Too Big… Brutalligators have been tearing up stages across the UK and Europe, supporting bands such as Fresh, Michael Cera Palin, Dikembe, Johnny Foreigner and Martha.

  • HiddenTracks #282 RESTROYER. (Grason, Chris, Alex, and Matt)
    Dec 18 2025

On this week's episode we welcome the punk band RESTROYER. from Salt Lake City, Utah. Restroyer. is a a no-rules celebration of punk rock in all its forms. Blending fast melodic skate punk, gritty hardcore, and classic 90s vibes, they write love letters to the sounds that shaped them.

The SLC-based quartet specializes in the punk rock that you may remember from the late nineties or mid-aughts – think a mixture of the political approach of Anti-Flag, the upbeat skate punk of Lagwagon, and a bit of grizzled Rancid energy. It’s tied up in an aggressive but digestible ten-song package that highlights its crusty punk rock roots without sacrificing a studio quality that begs for repeat listening.
