  • REPLAY: Swimming in Grief
    Jan 27 2026

In the midst of the heaviness of the world, I spent the weekend with three friends, one of whom lost his dad a few weeks ago. The time I would’ve used to get the first real episode of our Big Questions series together the way I would like it was better used being with some of my best friends in the world at that funeral. So, as I get the real first episode of Big Questions together more cleanly for you for next week, I’m sharing this episode about a powerful story of grief in the Bible. One that we don’t always consider through the eyes of grief. Let me know what you think.

Some good news in the midst of the heaviness - my wife’s non-profit, Nurture Our Future, raised over $10,000 this weekend for their partnership with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, a program that provides one free book per month to children from birth to age 5!

Also, I got invited to lead a revival! Never done that before, but I’m really looking forward to being with the good folks at Benoit Union Church - a Methodist, Baptist, and Presbyterian congregation - that’s been around for 125 years in the Mississippi Delta. Instead of asking big questions, we’ll be looking at the three questions Jesus directly answered and see if that revives anything in us. If you’re around or want to join, the revival will be February 15-18. Come join me!

  • Introducing Big Questions!
    Jan 20 2026

Welcome to God Knows Where's New Series, "Big Questions!" Big Questions is all about wrestling with some of the big questions we all ask of God, of our faith, of our tradition, in honest ways. It's what a lot of you have been asking for over the three years of God Knows Where. How would I answer this or that question? What would I say in this scenario?

So, here goes nothing. For the next, however long it takes, I’ll wrestle with some big questions and hope that it leads to some meaningful responses. Maybe these reflections will help you wrestle with the big questions you have for God in your own life. The doubts that have almost driven you away from faith. The experiences that have made you question if faith is even worth pursuing.

Ponder alongside your people while you listen and share this series with them from wherever you listen to God Knows Where.

  • God Knows Where's 3rd Anniversary! (REPLAY of "Personal Jesus")
    Jan 13 2026

Hard to believe it's been 3 YEARS since this whole journey began. Thanks for being a part of it all. Here's a replay of the very first episode of God Knows Where, "Personal Jesus." With a bunch of the drama of institutional religion swirling around in my life and work right now, it felt good to look back on this earlier work and remember what our work and faith is all about. Enjoy!

  • Offshoots: Flickering Flames
    Jan 6 2026

Sunday night, I was invited to preach at Ekklesia in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. We celebrated Epiphany and I shared my thoughts on the first five verses of the Gospel of John. I’m going to share them with y’all here today. And, if you happen to have been in the room on Sunday night at Ekklesia, I went back a filled in a hole in the middle after talking about this sermon with my wife.

I’d jokingly suggested to the church’s band leader that they play the Stranger Things theme song since it felt appropriate for talking about light and dark and the presence of good in the midst of dark moments, and Elizabeth reminded me of a way light leads the kids in Hawkins forward.

That’s enough there. No spoilers from the end of Stranger Things is you haven’t finished it yet. Just musings on God’s goodness and presence. Enjoy!

As we close out 2025, though, I want to replay the most listened to episode of the year for you. It’s one that touched directly on the chaos and struggle of 2025. Back in September, I shared this episode as part of the Live Streams series.

Hope y’all enjoy this replay of “Hate Wounds.”
