  • King Ultramega's Mark Menghi and Brann Dailor on Honoring Chris Cornell and the Dead Wishes Cover
    May 18 2026

Keefy caught up with Mark Menghi and Brann Dailor to discuss King Ultramega, the all-star tribute project dedicated to honoring the legacy of Chris Cornell. The pair breaks down how Dailor came to lend lead vocals to the project's cover of Cornell's 2015 solo track "Dead Wishes," released May 1, 2026, through Reigning Phoenix Music, and what makes this rendition a deeply personal tribute to one of heavy music's most iconic voices.

Menghi recruited Dailor after hearing his vocal performance on Mastodon's "Stairway to Heaven" cover. The "Dead Wishes" lineup features Brann Dailor on vocals, Angel Vivaldi on guitars, Mark Menghi on bass and orchestration, Kenny Aronoff on drums, and Frank Mitaritonna on keyboards.
