It’s taken me a long time to bring this out into the world. In fact, I’ve been sitting with this for months now. So much has happened over the last year, the last six months, even the last few weeks… I honestly don’t even know where to begin.

So I’ll begin right here.

I’ve been sitting with this episode for a while.

Knowing I wanted to record it… feeling it in my heart… but also knowing it needed to come when it was truly ready.

And I finally shared the story of my sweet Nemo on the Awaken With Animals podcast. Not just the story of his passing on December 23, 2025, but the deeper teaching he gave me in his final hours.

Nemo showed me something I will carry with me forever.

That when animals communicate, they are speaking in the moment.And as humans, we can sometimes attach meaning that stretches beyond that moment.

He told me he wasn’t ready, and I held onto that.

But what he was really teaching me was to trust what is true right then, and to stay open when things change.

Because they did… and very quickly.

And in that shift came one of the most profound lessons of my life.

Nemo taught me to trust, to listen, and to be present. To let love lead, even when it is incredibly hard.

This episode is deeply personal. It’s tender, emotional, and also filled with gratitude for everything he gave me.

It’s been quite a while since I’ve recorded here — almost a year — and today I felt the nudge to sit down and share.

In this episode of Awaken With Animals, I share from the heart about the recent passing of my beloved bearded dragon, Blessing.

Just two days ago, she left this world, and I felt called to honour her journey and her life by telling her story. As someone who helps others navigate the loss of their animal companions, I now find myself walking this path once again.

I’ve been here before, yet each time is a tender reminder of how real and raw the journey through grief can be — with all the “what ifs” and emotions that surface when we have to say goodbye.

Grief isn’t linear, and in this episode I speak openly, authentically, and with love about the rawness of loss, while offering comfort and encouragement to anyone walking this path with their own beloveds.
