Auguste Rodin by Rainer Maria Rilke is an intimate and perceptive study of one of the most influential sculptors of modern art. Written by a poet deeply fascinated by Rodin’s creative discipline, the book is more than a conventional biography: it is a meditation on artistic vision, craftsmanship, and the transformation of physical form into lasting expression.
Rilke examines Rodin’s development as an artist, his methods of working, and the ideas behind sculptures that changed the course of modern art. He pays particular attention to Rodin’s intense observation of the human body, describing how gesture, movement, surface, and emotion become inseparable in his work.
The book also reflects Rilke’s own interest in the creative process. Through his encounter with Rodin, he explores the patience, concentration, and dedication required to produce meaningful art.
Combining biography, criticism, and poetic reflection, *Auguste Rodin* offers listeners a distinctive introduction to both the sculptor and the philosophy behind his work. This audiobook is an excellent choice for anyone interested in art history, sculpture, creativity, and the relationship between artists and their craft.
