Just when you thought it was safe to enjoy another theme month; the spooky season returns. But not just any spook-em…a randomly chosen one. Because four horror fans, and the occasional special guest, have run out of catchy wordplay…

Welcome to the Apocalypse Video Shocktober Spooktacular: Tupperware of Terror!!!

It’s time to bust out that old TV/VCR combo, because we’ve got one hell of a black spine tape for your viewing pleasure; the film that kicked off a string of American J-Horror remakes, and would become a staple of Spirits Halloween stores for years to come - it’s…The Ring.

I’m your host, Dave, and joining me as we make some cop-ieeees are fellow horror fans Mike, Ryan, and Jackie.

Topics of discussion in this episode include a horror film made at the twilight of an era which included VCR’s, flip phones, and characters going to a library to do research; Ryan tries to explain to us how time stamps and meta data works; and finally, we take a look at the “Big Book of Creepy Lighthouses” as we explore the scenic views of the Pacific Northwest.

I’m your host, Dave, and joining me as we try to find the line between clever and stupid are fellow bandmates Mike, Ryan, and Jackie.

Imagine…travelling back to a time before the Internet…before Mountain Dew Livewire…and before the neo-post apocalypse…

This Summer, Apocalypse Video asks the question: Where Were You In ‘82?

The date is June 11th, 1982. Paul McCartney and Stevie Wonder are celebrating their fifth week on the top of the charts with Ebony and Ivory; and a lost alien life form is about to phone home...with the help of Sammy Fableman.

The film...is E T. The Extra Terrestrial. And it's riiiiight heeeere, with a special appearance by The Goonies...now!

I’m your host, Dave, and joining me as we go through a tear in space and time to listen to a now defunct podcast are fellow cinephiles and time travellers Mike, Ryan, and Jackie.

Topics of discussion in this bonus episode include the joys of early 80s PG films, including light profanity and homicidal rich kids; alternate-timeline Mike explains how he somehow missed seeing E.T. as a kid (much to me and Ryan’s disgust); and finally, we all pick our favorite Goonie, while discussing the topic everyone was obsessed with in 2016: are Italians the last ethnicity it’s socially acceptable to “do a funny voice of”.*

*Note: The episode you just heard was a recording of alternate timeline versions of Us and may not reflect our current views on Italian stereotypes. Please direct all angry letters to the tear in space and time in Sector 2. Thank you.

Imagine…travelling back to a time before the Internet…before Mountain Dew Livewire…and before the neo-post apocalypse…

This Summer, Apocalypse Video asks the question: Where Were You In ‘82?

The date is STILL August 13th, 1982. I'm running out of things to say about the Billboard Top 100 charts: let's just say, Eye of the Tiger was the Song of the Summer; and just as this historic summer Movie Season is about to end, a hulking mass murderer is about to find his groove as he stumbles upon the most famous facial accessory a slasher could kill for.

The film...is Friday the 13th Part 3. And it's about to swing a machete in your face…now!

I’m your host, Dave, and joining me as we try our best to sling a yo-yo directly into camera without hitting it are fellow cinephiles and Crystal Lake survivors Mike, Jackie, and Ryan.

Topics of discussion in this episode include the epic reveal of Jason’s iconic hockey mask…which he obtains off screen; we break down the logistics of hammock-sex and why “movie sex” can be so dangerous in real life; and finally, we wonder why Shelly brought a wet suit, a harpoon gun, and a hockey mask to a weekend getaway where he was meeting a blind date.

And as Jason lies dead in the barn, we too must say goodnight and bid you all farewell as Where Were You in ‘82 comes to an end. It’s been one hell of a summer and we want to thank all of you for listening to another Summer Film Fest from your friends at Apocalypse Video. See you next Summer!

Imagine…travelling back to a time before the Internet…before Mountain Dew Livewire…and before the neo-post apocalypse…

This Summer, Apocalypse Video asks the question: Where Were You In ‘82?

The date is still August 13th, 1982. John Cougar Mellencamp's "Hurts So Good" is sitting comfortably in the #4 spot after topping former champion, The Human League; and a former American Gigolo is about to enter flight school as he hopes to become an Officer....or at least...a Gentleman.

I’m your host, Dave, and joining me as we try to avoid getting kicked in the balls by our commanding officer is fellow cinephile and Naval Aviator in training, Mike.

Topics of discussion in this episode include the bizarre lore of “The Puget Sound Debs”; we present Robert Loggia with the coveted “Worst Dad of the Year” Award; and finally, we discover that naval boot camp doubles as a great form of therapy when your dead beat father is a “Worst Dad of the Year” award winner.

And as Louis Gossett Jr. fights off tears sending Ensign Mayo off to his destiny, we too must say goodbye as we hop into the van and make our way to Crystal Lake for one last hurrah before Summer ends. That’s right, when we return, Where Were You in ‘82 AND our long running Friday the 13th retrospective will conclude as we watch the one that started it all (fashionably speaking): Friday the 13th: Part III.
