Love the character as no matter how extreme he is I can still recognise the things that someone would think if not say.

Maybe you had to be there. But the brash Partridge of Stratagem feels 'off' compared to the more thoughtful Alan of the Oasthouse era.

It's like a throwback to 90's Partridge, which would be fine if was consistently funny. But instead it feels like half an hour of decent material padded out with directionless filler.

Coogan did a much better job satirising motivational speakers during Alan's Forward Solutions phrase. Here, the Stratagem theme doesn't ever seem to go anywhere or tie the show together.

Maybe that was supposed to be the joke? If so, it falls flat.
