- In the last days the mountain of the Lord is raised; nations stream to learn his ways, and swords become plowshares.

- Bethlehem will bring forth a ruler whose origin is from ancient days. God requires justice, kindness, and humility; he casts sins into the depths of the sea.

Romans 8:1-17

- There is now no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus. The Spirit of life sets free from the law of sin and death.

- Those led by the Spirit are children of God, heirs with Christ, if we suffer with him that we may also be glorified with him.

- Believers have died to the law through the body of Christ so they may belong to him who was raised, and bear fruit for God.

- The law is holy, yet sin uses the commandment to produce death. Paul groans: who will deliver me from this body of death? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ.

2 Chronicles 27:1-9

- Jotham did what was right in the Lord's eyes, built on the temple wall, and grew strong because he ordered his ways before the Lord.

- Judah still sacrificed on the high places; Jotham's reign was steady but the people were not fully turned.

Isaiah 9:1 - 12:6

- A great light rises on Galilee: a child is born, Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, whose government and peace will not end.

- Judgment falls on pride, yet a remnant returns. The Root of Jesse stands as a banner for the nations, and God is salvation — draw water from the wells of salvation with joy.

Romans 6:1-23

- Grace is not a license to sin. Those baptized into Christ have died to sin and walk in newness of life.

- Present yourselves to God as instruments of righteousness; the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus.
