    In episode 167 Sam is joined by stunt performer, comedian and podcaster Steve-O. His new movie Jackass: Best and Last is in UK cinemas from 26 June 2026.

    Steve-O has chosen Jackass: The Movie (85 mins). Directed by Jeff Tremaine and based on the MTV show, the comedy stars Johnny Knoxville, Chris Pontius, Steve-O, Dave England, Ryan Dunn, Wee Man, Bam Margera, Preston Lacy, and Danger Ehren.

    Sam and Steve-O discuss how Jackass went from TV to film, his experience of rewatching Jackass: The Movie for the first time since its release, and how the series has evolved over the years.

    In episode 166 Sam is joined by filmmaker Sophy Romvari. Her debut feature Blue Heron is in UK cinema from 26 June 2026.

    Sophy has chosen Chronicle of a Summer [Chronique d'un été] (90 mins). An early example of cinéma vérité, the documentary is a collaboration between sociologist Edgar Morin and filmmaker Jean Rouch.

    Sam and Sophy discuss moving from making short film to her first feature, working with real social workers on Blue Heron, and the balancing act between authenticity and story in her movie and Chronicle of a Summer.

    In episode 165 Sam is joined by filmmaker György Pálfi, writer and director of Hukkle and Taxidermia. His new film Hen [Kota] is in UK cinemas from 22 May 2026. A big thank you to Mark Baczoni for translating the conversation.

    György has chosen The Firemen's Ball [Hoří, Má Panenko] (73 mins). Directed by Miloš Forman, the Czechoslovak New Wave satirical comedy was nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at the 1969 Oscars, and was the last film Forman made in his native country of Czechoslovakia.

    Sam and György discuss filming Hen from the point of view of a chicken, his film Hukkle being selected for the podcast by Ari Aster, and why The Firemen's Ball still resonates today.
