Loved it!

I usually love Ruth Ware but I found this story a bit tedious and the main character, in particular the way she waxes lyrical about her marriage, too “perfect”.

The narration can be very breathy and dramatic, which might’ve worked well if it was used more sparingly! As it was, it made the story seem so cheesy.

Not Ruth Ware’s best

This was a really enjoyable book. I liked the main character and although I thought some of her actions were questionable a lot of that can be put down to the circumstances she was in. The plot was good and everything was described well.

The main downside for me was that while the start and end were good I found the middle quite slow. I also felt like too many hints were dropped to the mystery and I had much of it worked out in Chapter 4 which may have contributed to the slow feeling.

The audiobook narration was done very well.

Strong main character

Once again I couldn't stop listening to this story. As usual, excellently performed and characterised by Imogen Church. Ruth Ware has thought of everything in this story and added in twists and turns to keep you guessing. I can't get enough of her brilliant storytelling. My only problem now is that I have listened to all her books and have got to wait until 18th July for the next one!

Another blinder from Ruth Ware!

The story is interesting but the narrator is overdoing it with stretching every word. At times, it gets too annoying to listen, so I was tempted to download the book and read it myself. Too slow, too dragging of a listen.

good story, keeps you on your toes
