Story
In seven years of blogging only to the community of voice actors, specifically on the subject of voice acting, I've educated myself and others on the challenges of being a freelance voice artist. My first diplomatic answer to my caller is: being a success in voice acting requires more than just a voice. I've had to gingerly explain the real secret to voiceover success so often that it became clear: somebody needed to tell the truth about being a voice-actor. It's hard work! It's a business and should be approached as a business.

Rodney Saulsberry is the ultimate professional
What did you love best about You Can Bank on Your Voice?
It's a book that you can, and should, refer too often to help improve your craft.
What was one of the most memorable moments of You Can Bank on Your Voice?
Smiling at myself when doing some of the tongue twisters...but when he said one of the best warm-ups was to "yawn"...well, that's my favorite!
What does Rodney Saulsberry bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I've read and listened to the book and both are invaluable. But in the audio you hear his passion for the craft.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Too many to list, really. It just moves you enough to want to hear it again.
Any additional comments?
Anybody who is in voice over, public speaking, broadcast, or anything that requires the spoken word will absolutely benefit from this great book.

A must-listen for anyone working with their voice!
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I really enjoyed the story about live-announcing the NAACP Awards show. There are great lessons to be learned in that story about rolling with the punches and strengthening your skills as a voiceover talent.
Any additional comments?
Rodney is one of the premier talents in the industry, and he is an incredibly generous person and author who is continually a great resource for all things voiceover. This book speaks to those things. This is a great book to have as a guiding companion on your voiceover journey.

Rodney Saulsberry provides a comprehensive guide for aspiring voice actors. Although some aspects of the VO business have changed in the years since Rodney began his career, preparation, perseverance and maintaining a positive attitude continue to be the key for anyone wishing to succeed as a voice over actor.

Very educational, Inspiring, and Fun
The paperback is great, and this audio version is even better! Read by the author with examples of scripts so you can hear his interpretation and wisdom. I especially enjoyed the sound effects of the city traffic, for example, as you are transported into his world and experiences, which are nothing short of inspirational. It's like having a class I can take with me! Love it! Thank you Rodney Saulsberry for your contribution.
