Summary

This is not an imposter syndrome book. It is the book that will convince you to ditch the term forever.

YOU'RE NOT GOOD ENOUGH!

Those people to whom you compare yourself are every bit as superior as you believe them to be. They belong there. They know more than you. Your achievements don't count. And you're just not that clever.

Why bother? Give up. Go home...before you get found out.

Sound familiar?

This is how you speak to yourself if you think you're going to be found out and thrown out of your workplace.

This is how you speak to yourself when you think you're a phony...but all of the evidence says otherwise.

This is how you speak to yourself when you're suffering from the Imposter Phenomenon.

My own thoughts of the Imposter Phenomenon almost made me quit before I got started. I almost gave up on my career before there ever was one. I almost gave up on myself.

In You Are (Not) a Fraud, I invite you to come with me as I share some of the hidden data behind the Imposter Phenomenon. Come with me as I tell you the stories that can help you understand that it's not the imposter "syndrome"!

We can all understand what true imposters are.

We can all understand how to be mindful of useless comparisons we make between ourselves and other people.

We can all understand how the Imposter Phenomenon might always be there...but it should never stop you doing exactly what you want to do.

PLEASE NOTE: When you purchase this title, the accompanying PDF will be available in your Audible Library along with the audio.

Thought-provoking

This book is a great combination of a very personal story, intriguing detail and actionable tasks. It's well narrated by Marc in his glorious Scottish accent. As the author, he's the ideal person to put the emotion into his words.

It's an emotional roller coaster ride in which Marc relates his own self-doubts, often expressing the inner thoughts that come to the surface in situations where the negative nature of those thoughts is beyond his control; that is, he bares his soul!

Marc weaves his stories from these remembered moments, turning them into what I would call "actionable life advice" that is genuinely useful.

Even if you're not looking for ways to work on your own "imposter experience", this book is worth reading just for the thought-provoking journey it delivers.

Highly recommended.

You will recognise a bit of you in there

This book comes with a very interesting approach, with the author sharing his experiences and thoughts rather than preaching a message.
The author managed to make an original blend of feelings and emotions with hard scientific methodology.
I was surprised to recognising myself in some aspects of the book that I have never even considered. An eye opener!
The audible is very good, the narrator is clear, has a good pace and the Scottish accent is a bit of a bonus.
Overall very pleased, would definitely recommend.

Well written and thought provoking

I would highly recommend this book to anyone struggling with imposter feelings. The book is relatable, interesting and helpful to contextualise feelings felt by many people but not openly spoken about.
