Summary
He's waiting for you.
Cryptic warnings and fragments from a crazed mind are all that Kyle has to go on in the wake of the unexpected suicide of his ex-girlfriend, Cheryl. A rapid descent into madness would culminate in throwing herself off the roof of her hospital, leaving him behind searching for answers.
Kyle has one clue to follow. From her parents, he learns that she spent a week alone, camping in the upstate wilderness in a rented cabin. Enlisting the company of two friends without revealing to them the real reason for his trip, Kyle goes there, determined to find out what happened to her.
He soon realizes that the ghosts of his own memory and guilt have been joined by the dark presence of something else. Of something powerful.
And still, the cabin waits.

Twisty Turny Fun
'Yesterday, When We Died,' was a fun story that is hard to talk about without giving away spoilers. Since I have to keep it vague, I'll say that Chad A. Clark does a fairly masterful job of weaving this tale, though he lost me a little at the end. I didn't have any trouble following the twists but I also didn't feel entirely satisfied by the wrap up. That said, I don't think it's something that would really take away from enjoying this story, I'm just a tough critic ;)
The real issue with this piece was the narration. Alex Freeman gives a pretty good performance, it just sounds like he's narrating from the inside of a tin can. The quality is just not very good, especially if you've just come from listening to a book with extremely high production quality. It bothered me less and less as it went on and I got used to it. After having looked him up, this makes sense as he seems to narrate mostly self help books and the like. I'd suggest a better set up for narrative fiction, especially if you hope to make it suspenseful!!

Wow, the ending!
This was such a great book! I was unsure what to expect as I love the isolationist hauntings, but they all seem to blend together and lack originality. Not this case for this guy. Kyle tricks his buddies into accompanying him to a cabin as a guys trip, not telling his best bros that the location they are visiting happens to be the place that his ex visited before she went crazy and leapt off a building killing herself. When they get to the house the guys begin to experience strange occurrences, realistic dreams, and tension between the guys begin to build. The book was great, the ending was shocking and twisting! Loved it! Various points of view throughout making a great style of writing. The narration was also well done. I would love to see more by this author! A bit confusing at times, but fairly solid
We've got what is ostensibly your typical haunted house story, with a bit of a larger scope. Group of guys heads to a cabin in the woods, spooky things start happening. There were indeed some moments you'd call "spooky", but nothing too crazy. There was some gore and violence which was a bit more shocking, but not too off-putting.
I did like some of the mix of time travel and supernatural elements in the story. It was well done and helped bring a feeling of cohesion to the some of the story elements. There were some spooky moments to be had, but nothing too crazy.
Unfortunately, not much ended up being explained in the end (and indeed, I feel like the ending provided more questions than answers), but if you enjoy it for what it's meant to be, it's not a big deal.
The narration was satisfactory, though I felt there could have been a bit more vocal range so things didn't feel so monotone.
I requested this audiobook and was provided it free of charge. I voluntarily left this review.

it was ok
i listened to the audio book. this story starts out really interesting and has plenty of creepy bits. somewhere in the middle, i zoned out. when i came back around, i was completely lost. i lost interest in the story at that point but there was still great imagery there. i wanted to know the connections so i kept listening but by this point, i was over it. i wouldn't say this book is bad because i think the problem was me. i would read or listen to more from this author.

Perfectly executed horror/thriller!
At my request, I received a copy of this book for free in exchange for an honest review.
I love a good spooky story, but I have found that I'm often left feeling a little disappointed, I guess maybe it's hard to come up with material that is eerie enough to scare the reader, while still making sense and being believable... However, that was NOT the case with YESTERDAY WHEN WE DIED. I was pleasantly surprised. I had high hopes and they absolutely came through.
I can't delve too deep without spoiling the fun for a potential reader. What I can say is that a story with the happenings and twists and turns such as this one would've been really easy to get lost with, in a way that would confuse and eventually lose the reader. (You'll see what I mean when you read it!) But this story was expertly executed!! I can't say that enough!
The author did an excellent job of keeping me interested, scared, and on track with the timeline of events. The guy is brilliant!
It was refreshing to be able to read and feel the effort put into this book. I appreciate it and truly loved it!

Supernatural Thriller
Have to admit this is my 1st listen by author and enjoyed this short listen. Kyle really did love his ex-girlfriend Cheryl who takes her own life after a vacation in a cabin. He talks his buddies Grant and Shannon to vacation to the same cabin without telling them his real reason to visit it. Then come all of the horror/supernatural occurrences (some scary and horrific). You will have to listen to find out more. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. Thank you

This one had me scratching my head, in a good way. You won't see it coming. You won't know what's happening until the very end. This is one suspense that I couldn't guess right at all. I LOVED IT! It's so hard to find a suspense that I can't figure out, but this one got me. Absolutely worth it.
