About this listen

They say going home is easy, and in all reality, it should be. Just not for me.

The small, one-horse town that gave me my roots, that made my soul thrive, is also the place I never wanted to set foot in again. I left everything behind and never looked back. Until now. With the death of the man who raised me, I’m forced to return to Boone.

Old wounds resurface, and heartache and loss trump everything once more.

Seeing the man who shattered my world the night of our high school graduation almost brings me to my knees. Jessie, my once best friend and love of my life, ruined it all for me...for us.

I’m back in Boone...and my secret is about to rattle the tiny town.

Ohh fell in love with Whit, such a wonderful little thing. This was a great, easy going book for me. A wonderful listen and only my second audiobook from HJ Bellus. I really love her stories, the characters just fall into place for me. Jules and Jessie have a never ending love affair that started when they were just youngsters together, and we see them trying to get back together again in this book. I’m a sucker for stories where true love prevails and hearts come back to each other and bloom.
HJ gives us such heart warming stories and this one does give you an HEA.

Really enjoyed this book from the amazing HJ. Hope to hear more of Jules and Jessie’s friends and their stories too.

Good narration, better a second time around.

I love HJ Bellus’s writing! Her stories are always real and heartwarming. This story of Jules, Jessie and Whit is no exception to her good work.

Jules comes back to town for her grandfathers funeral. She moved away as soon as she graduates high school. Right after her then boyfriend Jesse told her to “take care of it” when she told him she was pregnant. He had a football scholarship and it went to his head. I have to admit that I did NOT like Jesse at the beginning of this story!

When she comes back, he sees her and knows he never stopped loving her. He regretted what he said the minute he got on the plane to go to college and she wasn’t with him. Her grandparents wouldn’t help him find her. He came back to their home town and hoped she’d return.

So what happens when two people who loves each other all through high school, separates by hurt, see each other again after so long. And how does a father get to know a daughter he has never seen? This story will tell you a story of how Jessie and Jules handle it! It’s well worth a listen.

Austin Will and Whittington Frank do a good job with the narration.

This was a very sweet listen!

So much about this book that I love. It's small town, which is always good, it's low angst, it's a second chance romance and it has a little girl that stole my heart. HJ Bellus always comes through with such great stories, and this one hits the mark. Jules and Jessie are high school sweethearts, but when it comes time to adult, Jessie takes off to college, leaving Jules. When Jules comes back years later for her grandfather's funeral, this couple get their second chance. I loved the premise of this book, it's sweet and is how we all want life to be. While there are unanswered questions, and I wish Jules was a little less forgiving, their time together well worth the listen. But Whit definitely steals the show. With her innocence and tonacity, that little girl sure is spunky!

Austin Wulp and Whitton Frank give a good dual narration to this book. At times, they each did sound slightly monotone, but I found they both have a good variety of voices and complimented each other in style and pace. It's a great afternoon story to enjoy.

Whit!

HJ Bellus does it again with a truly lovely and sweet second chance romance between Jesse and Jules. This was a fairly short listen but HJ Bellus seems to fit in an awful lot of story and as usual her characters are fully rounded and instantly likeable. I loved all the side characters in this one as well and in particular little Whit was adorable with great dialogue for a child character! I liked the narration overall but felt the male narration was a bit formal and robotic in places. The more I read of HJ Bellus’s work the more I find I love everything she’s written! Absolutely worth a listen to if you like a short, sweet young lovers second time around story. #AudiobookObsession

"Yesterday Is Gone" was a very Tender Love Story. I loved it from the very start of it, to the very emotional end. It was definitely properly titled and the author; H. J. Bellus's did a wonderful job allowing the story to unfold.
The characters seem to come to life with every word, with every emotion, with every action. There was one chapter of the book, that I became so emotional, that I even found myself with tears rolling down my face and I had goosebumps from the raw feelings that I had inside.

I definitely would recommend this book. There may be tears but there's definitely an HEA to go with it. The narrator's Austin Wulp and Whitton Frank did a wonderful job with all the background characters, they should be proud of their mastered work.
