Summary

They say going home is easy, and in all reality, it should be. Just not for me.

The small, one-horse town that gave me my roots, that made my soul thrive, is also the place I never wanted to set foot in again. I left everything behind and never looked back. Until now. With the death of the man who raised me, I’m forced to return to Boone.

Old wounds resurface, and heartache and loss trump everything once more.

Seeing the man who shattered my world the night of our high school graduation almost brings me to my knees. Jessie, my once best friend and love of my life, ruined it all for me...for us.

I’m back in Boone...and my secret is about to rattle the tiny town.

Yesterday is Gone

The perfect second chance book! This book deals with such realistic situations that will tug at your heart. There is so much strength for such a young age and regret that tears you apart. Then there is a love so strong that will put you back together. Fantastic listen all the way around.

A Tender Love Story 💘

"Yesterday Is Gone" was a very Tender Love Story. I loved it from the very start of it, to the very emotional end. It was definitely properly titled and the author; H. J. Bellus's did a wonderful job allowing the story to unfold.
The characters seem to come to life with every word, with every emotion, with every action. There was one chapter of the book, that I became so emotional, that I even found myself with tears rolling down my face and I had goosebumps from the raw feelings that I had inside.

I definitely would recommend this book. There may be tears but there's definitely an HEA to go with it. The narrator's Austin Wulp and Whitton Frank did a wonderful job with all the background characters, they should be proud of their mastered work.

Funny and sweet second chance romance

HJ Bellus does it again with a truly lovely and sweet second chance romance between Jesse and Jules. This was a fairly short listen but HJ Bellus seems to fit in an awful lot of story and as usual her characters are fully rounded and instantly likeable. I loved all the side characters in this one as well and in particular little Whit was adorable with great dialogue for a child character! I liked the narration overall but felt the male narration was a bit formal and robotic in places. The more I read of HJ Bellus’s work the more I find I love everything she’s written! Absolutely worth a listen to if you like a short, sweet young lovers second time around story. #AudiobookObsession

Small Town second chance romance

I really enjoyed this story. I felt that the book was well written and the narrators did a good job as well. I felt like I could connect to these characters and what they were going through. I'm from a small town and the author hit it just right with the small town vibes. Really enjoyed book one and will hopefully get to listen to book 2 soon.

2nd chances are worth it.

A great story story of rekindling your first love.
Jessie and Jules were HS Sweethearts. They had all these plans until a pregnancy. Jessie basically was a jerk about it and left for College. Jules kept the baby and moved to Cali. Jules returned after 5 years due to her dad's death.
Jessie finds out he has a daughter after 5 years. The story takes us on a journey of love, forgiveness and healing.
The narrators were both new to me. I thought they did a great job.

Yesterday is Gone

I loved this second chance love story. I enjoyed the dual point of view. Jules and Jessie were great but the real star of this book was 5 year old Whit. There was angst as well as sweet, funny and sad moments. It's well worth a listen especially if you love stories with kids in it.

Austin & Whitton did a great job narrating this story and bringing these characters to life.

Second chance romance. A little drama, sadness, pettiness, but a lot of fun with a small town flair.
Narration by Whitton Frank was well done, narration by Austin Wulp was stuffy, I’m sure he would be excellent in a different story just not this one.

Young Love

Jessie and Jules were high school sweethearts. They had plans for their futures and it was off to college then their forever. When life threw a wrench into their plans Jessie crushed Jules so she did the only thing she could and left town. Years later they are brought back together and what they had before still simmers there.

Austin Wulp and Whitton Frank did a great job narrating this emotional story. They brought their A game and made me feel. I loved listening to them both.

Yesterday is Gone

This was such a great read/listen. I am a sucker for small town romances and even more so for HJ Bellus books. As always a solid and a bit emotional storyline leading to a wonderful HEA . The performance by Austin Wulp and Whitton Frank was very well done and helped the story along that much more.

Sweet second chance

This is a sweet second chance romance. The story of Jules and Jessi, who are divided by grief and then five years later it’s another grief that brings them together. I really enjoyed this audible.
The narration was decent by Austin Wulp and Whitton Frank

Simply Adorable

When life gives you a second chance you can either roll with it or walk away. In the case of Jules and Jessie, there is so much hurt to overcome that a future might be too much to hope for. With a beautiful story and great narrators this book should not be missed.

Excellent Second Chance Story!

HJ Bellus has written a captivating second chance story. It contains love, grief, loss, immature decisions, secrets, and a second chance to correct them. Immaturity causes both Jules and Jessie to make the wrong choices as teenagers. But later in life will they make better choices? This story is a rollercoaster of emotions. However, a wonderful little girl will be the there to guide them along. The narrators are perfect at portraying the emotions and desires of these characters. I asked to receive this Audible book and voluntarily wrote this unbiased review. I highly recommend this Audible book.

2nd chance for love

Jules left the small town when her heart was broken by Jesse , her high school sweetheart. They had big plans for their future. On graduation night she told him she was pregnant. He told her to take care of it. Instead, she decided to leave town and never see him again. Jesse's football dreams didn't go as planned, he returned home to the small town he grew up in. 5 years later, Jules came home, with their daughter, for the funeral of her beloved Papa Jack. Living in the small town she knew what was in store. The gossip mill would be running amock. Jesse realized what he lost that day when he saw Jules again. He never stopped loving her. Now he had to figure out how to win her back.
This is a story of second chance love, With many ups and downs emotionally. Building trust, believing that she could give her heart to him again.
I loved this story , Nanny Jane is a hoot, and Little Whit a very fun loving little girl and brings smiles and sunshine .
Austin Wulp and Whitten Frank narration is so good. I enjoyed listening to the story. each narrator captured the essence of every character in the book. especially Little Whit! 🎧#audiobookobsessionreview

Second Chance Romance at its best!!!

I’m a sucker for second chance romance! Yesterday is Gone is going to give you all the feels! Love, loss, regret, secrets, forgiveness...just to name a few!

Nothing stays a secret when you live in a small town. So when Jules comes back for her grandfathers funeral, the gossip mongers are having a field day. Why you ask? Because she didn’t come alone. Her little mini me is right by her side.

Jesse has always regretted the words he said before graduation. Jules left and never looked back. Now she’s back, and her mini me has his eyes. While he is enchanted by his little princess, her wants her mama, too.

I thoroughly enjoyed all of the characters in this book!

Austin and Whitton did a great job bringing Jesse and Jules to life!

Wonderful Story & Narration🎧 Sweet & Heartfelt!

This is a sweet and heartfelt second chance romance. I enjoyed HJ Bellus’ writing style as well as the story and characters she created. This story captivated me from start end and put a smile on my face many times through out. I adored the characters, Jules a single mother returns back to her childhood home after her beloved Papa passed away. It has been five years since she left this small town and him, the one who broke her heart. She returns with her head held high and stronger than ever. Jessie and Jules were friends since childhood their relationship morphed into more over the years and they became lovers. Jessie had plans to make it big in professional football, so when Jules dropped a surprise on him he did not handle it well and caused her to flee and not look back. Jessie regretted it ever since, he wanted to reach out to Jules but her family told him no and would not give him any contact info. Will he have another chance with the love of his life, will she or can she forgive him. I loved how their story played out, there is plenty of drama, emotions, some twists and a slow burn to a second chance romance. I was rooting for these two and kept hoping they’d find their their HEA, HJ Bellus does not disappoint. Thank you for another wonderful story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

I listened to the Audible edition, Austin Wulp and Whiten Frank do a terrific job narrating and performing the voices for all the characters. They brought the characters and their story to life, they projected their emotions in to their performance as well as the drama of the story. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for this great listen🎧
